Renault Twingo RS 133 Cup Tyre Review Highlights
3 years on
Have run the Falkens over 2 + [1/2] full sets.
Car is Renault Twingo RS. Cup chassis "Silverstone" ltd edition.
Pretty specific size 195-40/17 so not a lot out there.
Have zero complaints about falkens in wet dry or during winter - as long as you drive to the "season".
Surprising in the wet, excellent in dry. Wear is good. My tyres come as XL Vs
It may well be the chassis that is allowing them to flourish.
Seasonally, there are better out there.
But as an all rounder they are v effective and the price is really good to say the least.
In fact I will go as far as to say performance to £/$ wise they are a steal.

Used them for spirited road drives and a tourist drive on the Nürburgring Nordschleife. Great tyre for someone new to semi slicks, wants a cheap high performancestreet tyre or regularly does non-competitive track days, but not competitive driving.
I had mine for 10000k's before selling the car... was down to the first of two indicator lines despite hard driving.
Noise is high, sidewall is stiff but shouldn't matter considering their intended purpose.

Superb grip on twisty country roads (Hardly ever need to use the brakes to take a even the fastest bends)
Great wet & dry weather braking, much better stopping distance than the Nankang 'doughnuts' that were fitted to the car when I bought it.
I really like the 'Rim protection' sidewall ridge on these tyres too, especially when my wife borrows the car as she hasn't got a clue as to how near to the curb the wheels are when she's trying to park.
I would say my only gripe with the front set of Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2's I bought last year is they have only lasted for just over 6,000 miles, which is a little disappointing, but I suppose if Goodyear made them more durable, they would be no better than the very pretty, but totally useless, Nankang doughnuts that were fitted before.
