Fantastic fantastic fantastic. What a tyre. It was winter a couple of years ago in my Corsa, and had some budget summers on. The tyres locked up in a car park and ended up very slowly hitting a van. barely any damage but the fact i coulndnt do anythign was scary, so that day went and bought 2 of these for th Corsa. And boy what a purchase. Instantly the snow grip was unbelivable for an all season tyre. Chewed up snow with barely any wheelspin, this is a car with no TCS by the way. Ice was not terrible. The wet was fantastic too, and every since i got these tyres i never. aquaplaned. again. For reference every time i got on the motorway in the wet with the budgets i used to be in all 3 lanes. This is on an 1100kg car. Dry grip was actually very suprisingly good too. Is it as good as a sporty dedicated summer tyre? No. Is it going to hold you going way too fast on a country lane you've never been on? Probably not. Is it going to hold you on that country lane you do know, going a reasonably fast pace? Absolutely. I used this tyre for around 2 years putting maybe 20,000 miles on them, and still had around 3mm on (when i sold the car, not when the tyres were changed). I believe they'd have another 6-9 months / 5000-7500 miles in them at least. This corsa had 195bhp and 300nm at specifically 1088kg, and these tyres kept up in drag races, country lanes, and every day driving. This review isn't for the middle aged parent who wants some nice all year tyres for their crossover suv. This is the review i wish i had at 18 for these tyres, that has been there and done it. In the smaller size that you're small hatchback has, they're very reasonably priced, and will do you well. Now in an M235i, I'm using Michelin PS5s which are in a different category of tyres, and I have a seperate review on. Mainly due to 326bhp, and the same driving style.

Really, quite an awful tyre. If you push the car at all, the tyres will show their true performanfe, or lack theeeof. Very poor grip in the dry, abysmal grip on the wet, and no grip at all on loose surfaces, snow, or ice. Even driving the car gently on EcoContacts will cause you to smell the tyres when you pull up on your drive. They’re average for comfort. I haven’t had them long enough to fairly judge how long they will last but considering the burnt tyre smell after a quick drive I don’t imagine they would last a season.

Had these fitted by a "cheap" garage that my mum liked to use (cheapskate) Ended up charging me £400 for 4 of these things to be fitted Seriously cheap, wore down quick and although i hadn't lost grip in the dry, in the wet it became obvious. After 2 years the front 2 tyres are down to 70% wear. Replaced with some quality Michelin P4s', £200 fitted in my driveway, miles better grip! Will be getting rid of the rears soon.

Decent dry grip but simply terrible on wet/damp/cold roads. Trying to pull away at junctions/roundabouts in the wet when applying power results in just wheelspins and the ESC light coming on.... Only way to pull away in the wet and not have this happen is to set off at snail's pace. These tyres came with my car which I purchased 2nd hand with 3700 miles on, I've replaced them just 3000 miles on as I simply can't stand them. I have replaced them with run flat tyres ultra high performance tyres which seem to have a reputation for being noisy and uncomfortable, and yet the run flat tyres I'm now running (RainSport 3 SSR) are actually far more comfortable and less noisy than the Conti EcoContct 5's, so shows how bad these are!! Also sidewalls are very soft, this I think is responsible for the poor steering feedback.
