I buy a 17" aluminum wheels with already used tyres 2011.g. and they are too much noisy on speed over 50km/h. Also they are not so good in wet condition. My opinion for this used tyres is not worth too much but i am sure the new one tyres have a better physical performance.

Had my car on budget tyers when I got the car replaced them for these and I would quiet happily go back budget!!! These are dreadful can't stand the road noise, bumpy ride and terrible grip in the wet!! Not the best in the dry, will never put another set on my car again!! Also wear down quick!! These are to avoid!!!??

These will last a very long time even if you stood there doing burnouts all day, after rolling road sessions the tyres were dead cold to the touch they are the hardest compound I have ever seen - comparable to a brick! Handles not well in the dry and requires the upmost attention and feel in the wet from the driver as they break traction very easily and have extreme trouble putting any power down in the wet. Get plenty of wheel spin in 4th gear in wet and a bit in 5th. Absolute death traps.

Driving on a combination of roads for 19000 spirited miles
Bought these Tyres for my Golf GTI 1.8T back in January 2009, and they were a very good investment. Considering the size, 225/40/18 all 4 tyres come to ?240 (?60 a tyre from Camskill). The tyres have lasted about 19'000 miles but i did rotate the tyres front to back to get a bit longer out of the fronts so all 4 could be replaced together. The ones now on the back are just on the markers, so have been replaced by another set of Falkens.

The car seems very quiet, confident and have never made me feel unconfident with the cars handling. The car is running 240bhp through the front wheels, and I drive the car hard often. The tyres have never let me down, have worn true and evenly and are definitely a much better alternative to expensive brands.

I have read reviews of these tyres saying Continentals are better, yet are more that twice the price??? I dont think you get twice the amount of wear or benefits for the money difference. Compared to the previous Michelins which were on the car before, once worn to about 4mm, the tyre was scary in the wet and provided no confidence when driving at speed.

Even now at the end of the tyres life, they grip very well and look good. I read that people with the similar but directional version of the Falken tyre had problems once worn in and dont last long? Id say my 19'000 miles for ?240 is very good considering the ?520 for premium brands.

Do not be put off, these are the best mid range tyre available and give the big boys a run for their money.
