Braking distances and lap times are better when lower; speeds, wear and grip figures when higher. A test's figures are its own: sizes, cars, surfaces and temperatures differ from one to the next, which is why the averages here are only ever of tests the two tyres shared. "Scored" rows are subjective driver ratings: each test uses its own scale, so only the wins are counted.

Falken ZIEX ZE310 EcoRun
- 80%from 119 reviews
- 78%would buy again
- 1,000,122 milesdriven by reviewers
Drivers generally describe the Falken ZIEX ZE310 EcoRun as an excellent value summer touring tyre with strong wet-weather safety (including aquaplaning resistance) and confident dry grip, often punching above its price class. A very common highlight is low cabin noise and an overall smooth, secure feel, with many users also reporting good wear life over high mileage. The most recurring drawbacks are higher rolling resistance (fuel consumption increase for some cars) and a softer/less precise steering feel that can disappoint more performance-focused drivers, with a subset also finding the ride firmer on rough roads.
- Strong wet grip and reassuring aquaplaning resistance
- Good dry grip and braking
- Low road noise / quiet cabin
- Good value for money
- Higher rolling resistance leading to increased fuel consumption for some drivers
- Soft sidewalls or less precise steering/feedback (not ideal for hard sporty driving)
- Firm/harsh ride on rough roads for some vehicles/setups

All 19 Proxes Comfort reviewsThis is my first set of Toyo Proxes, they have really impressed me so far i'm around 5000+ miles with them on the rear of my BMW 3 series. I have cheap Chinese Mazzini tyres on the front that came with then car (Don't buy them!) they are awful, but highlight the difference between cheap budget tyres and good mid range. The front end feels honestly bad while the Toyos on the rear feel super planted, it's a genuine noticeable difference. The Toyos are so good in wet and dry they always feel stable and have loads of grip. I ran them trough winter with no issues never lost traction. I drive lots of twisty B roads they are actually pretty fun to drive on given the comfort bias which is also really good. They soak up bumps and potholes really well and are very quiet. Im really blown away by how good they are i've always fitted premium brands (Michelin, Bridgestone, Goodyear) but the Toyos are actually my favourite so far. I Guess tread life might be the only differentiator but so far after 5000 miles they look as good as the day they were put on.

Reading the results
Written from the test results and owner reviews above. It is analysis, not a measurement: where it and the tables disagree, the tables are right.
This head-to-head pits two popular premium-touring summer tyres aimed at everyday drivers: the Falken ZIEX ZE310 EcoRun and the Toyo Proxes Comfort. Both target confident all-round road manners with comfort and efficiency, yet they take different routes to get there.
Across 12 shared tests, a clear pattern emerges: Falken consistently excels in wet safety and aquaplaning resistance, while Toyo typically delivers shorter dry stops and lower rolling resistance. Pricing swings by test and size, but value scores and wear often favor Falken. The result is a choice between all-weather security versus efficiency-leaning comfort.
Conclusion
If you prioritize wet-road security, the Falken ZE310 is the safer bet. It dominates wet braking (10 wins to 2), leads straight and curved aquaplaning across almost every test, and often pairs that with composed dry handling. Its value and wear results frequently land above Toyo, strengthening its case for cost-conscious buyers who won't compromise on rain performance.
The Toyo Proxes Comfort suits drivers who value quiet cruising, light weight, and fuel efficiency. It more often edges dry braking and rolling resistance, and remains competitive in dry handling, though its wet braking is commonly longer. For predominantly urban, fair-weather use or efficiency-focused motorists, Toyo makes sense. For mixed climates and confident wet safety, Falken is the clearer choice.

Where this data comes from
Finishing positions and measurements are transcribed from each published test. A test only counts here when both tyres ran in it, so every figure was recorded on the same car, size and day as the one it is compared to.
About the TR Score
The Tyre Reviews Score rates each tyre out of 10 from every independent test result and vetted owner review we hold, so two tyres can be compared even before a test has run them together.
Who does the testing
Every test published as a Tyre Reviews test is run by Jonathan Benson, who has been testing tyres independently since 2007.
