The Tyre Reviews Score is the most comprehensive tyre scoring system available. It aggregates professional test data from multiple independent publications, user reviews, and consistency analysis using Bayesian statistical methods, weighted normalisation, and recency-adjusted scoring to produce a single, reliable performance rating.

Methodology & Configuration
Scoring Process
  1. Collect Test Data: Gather results from professional tyre tests across multiple publications. Minimum 1 test(s) required.
  2. Normalize Positions: Convert test positions to percentile scores using exponential weighting (factor: 1.2).
  3. Apply Recency Weighting: More recent tests are weighted higher with a decay rate of 0.95.
  4. Incorporate User Reviews: Factor in user review data (minimum 5 reviews). Weight: 15%.
  5. Bayesian Smoothing: Apply Bayesian prior (score: 7, weight: 1.5) to prevent extreme scores with limited data.
  6. Calculate Final Score: Combine all components using normalization factor of 1.1. Max score with limited data: 9.5.

Given 43% while driving a Kia Motors (225/45 R18 V) on mostly town for 500 average miles
These tires are ok for the price, I had nexen tires before and they were very good on road specially wet grip and comfort also, Apollo tires are not good for wet grip and they are noisy also. Not buying again

Given 94% while driving a Volvo S60 T5 250bhp (245/40 R18) on mostly town for 1,000 average miles
Dry grip- It grips excellently. Fewer traction control light flash at take offs on 177kw 320Nm car.

Wet grip- Only drove less than 2000km on the dry. Have not really experience wet driving yet.

Handling- This is where this tire shines. Its very stable and predictable and way better than the Continental Sport Contact 5p's I have replaced.

Comfort/Noise - It soaks bumps well for a 40 aspect ratio tire and it is a rather quite tyre.

Buy again- I will definitely buy it again and again. Best value for money

Given 50% while driving a Audi A6 Avant 2.0TDi 170 (225/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 17,782 average miles
Catastrophic experience, and I can compare with others !

Original mount on my Audi A6 Avant (III) from 2011, a non really explosive engine but still 170 hp from the 2.0 TDi, was a Bridgestone Turanza ER300 205/50R16-96W -> 50'408 KMs then dropped
The Apollo Aspire 4G 225/55R16-99Y were dead after 28'617 kms !!

(comparison with winter mounts:
Continental WinterTS810 205/60R16-92H lasted 67'592 kms
Vredestein Snowtrac 3 205/60R16-92H are on the car for a new season)

and I will buy again.

Given 63% while driving a Peugeot 308 1.6 HDi (225/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 6,000 average miles
Was talked into these by my garage, never again. It's not that they're terrible but over priced for what they are.

I aquaplaned on them once. It was in a corner going down hill in the rain, certainly not at a dangerous speed and the tyres lust lost it.

Had Dunlops before that and they were great. Now have Nokian winters which are amazing!

Given 83% while driving a Lexus IS250SE (225/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 1,500 spirited miles
What a pleasant surprise. These tyres were already fitted to a newly refurbished set of alloys I purchased. I have previously had many premium brands, mainly michelin, bridgestone. These tyres are very very good, wet and dry grip is excellent. I have not pushed to the extreme limit as I drive 'press on' not like a lunatic! They grip and inspire confidence. Like most people I drive the same route to work and I can certainly feel the improved levels of grip compared to michelin pilot primacy, these were not worn out BTW. Cannot comment on wear as I have only had them 2 months.
