Methodology & Configuration
Scoring Process
  1. Collect Test Data: Gather results from professional tyre tests across multiple publications. Minimum 1 test(s) required.
  2. Normalize Positions: Convert test positions to percentile scores using exponential weighting (factor: 1.2).
  3. Apply Recency Weighting: More recent tests are weighted higher with a decay rate of 0.95.
  4. Incorporate User Reviews: Factor in user review data (minimum 5 reviews). Weight: 15%.
  5. Bayesian Smoothing: Apply Bayesian prior (score: 7, weight: 1.5) to prevent extreme scores with limited data.
  6. Calculate Final Score: Combine all components using normalization factor of 1.1. Max score with limited data: 9.5.

Short braking in the dry, good aquaplaning resistance, good off road performance, very good levels of comfort, low rolling resistance.
Extended braking distances in the wet, slow handling in the dry and wet with high levels of understeer, highest external pass by noise.
The BF Goodrich Advantage SUV is a tyre with good levels of comfort, short dry braking distances, and good aquaplaning resistance in deeper water. The tyre struggles a little more in shallow water, with longer wet braking distances and understeer handling.
8th/10
High traction on gravel and mud, low rolling resistance, good comfort.
Low traction on sand, understeer in the wet and dry, limited steering feedback and precision.
Satisfactory.

Given 93% while driving a Renault (215/65 R16) on a combination of roads for 0 spirited miles
Before I had the Michellin Lititude tire and the car did not have a good grip in curve and braking. After changing the tire to Bfgoodrich Advantage SUV the car has much more dry and wet grip. It gives a lot of confidence in driving at high speeds.

Given 88% while driving a Dacia duster 4x2 2011 (215/65 R16) on mostly country roads for 1,000 average miles
Purchased these to replace a set of Continental Eco Contact 6s which were fitted to my new Duster upon delivery. The Conti’s were a very underwhelming tyre in many areas, these BF Goodrich tyres are a big improvement all round. Steering response, wet grip, noise levels are all much better than they were on the Continental’s. I had a set of BF Goodrich tyres on my last duster and was very satisfied with their performance, these new Advantage SUV tyres seem just as impressive so I’m very pleased I decided to get rid of the Continental’s.
