Methodology & Configuration
Scoring Process
  1. Collect Test Data: Gather results from professional tyre tests across multiple publications. Minimum 1 test(s) required.
  2. Normalize Positions: Convert test positions to percentile scores using exponential weighting (factor: 1.2).
  3. Apply Recency Weighting: More recent tests are weighted higher with a decay rate of 0.95.
  4. Incorporate User Reviews: Factor in user review data (minimum 5 reviews). Weight: 15%.
  5. Bayesian Smoothing: Apply Bayesian prior (score: 7, weight: 1.5) to prevent extreme scores with limited data.
  6. Calculate Final Score: Combine all components using normalization factor of 1.1. Max score with limited data: 9.5.

Decent traction, but only superficially good corner grip on snow. Largely good-natured characteristics in wet conditions, very secure grip in dry corners.
Very narrow limit range in snow-covered curves, sudden under- or oversteering. Sensitive to puddles, somewhat limited aquaplaning protection. Instability in the lane change test.
The new Falken qualifies for lowland winter.
8th/13
Good traction and short braking distances on snow, dynamic dry handling.
Understeering behavior on snowy and wet roads, moderate aquaplaning reserves.
5th/9
Falken EuroAll Season AS220 Pro performs very well on dry and wet asphalt, and loses the most points on snow, where it has average properties. Falken wins the dry sport driving competition. It also has an attractive price and emits low noise levels.

Latest Falken Euroall Season AS220 Pro Reviews

Initial Impressions Review
Given 77% while driving a BMW 1 series (245/35 R18) on for 500 miles
Initial impressions compared to: 4 nearly new Nexen HP summer tyres:
Internal cabin noise : no change
Fuel usage: no major change
Handling: slightly dead feel on the straight ahead, softer turn in, slightly more wallow low speed cornering, but nothing major.
Wet grip: a slight improvement over the summer tyre, a lot MORE so at lower temps, 5c or less.
Ride: xl load rating, but the softer construction/ sidewall gives an improvement in ride comfort.
Braking distance: slightly longer in wet and dry.
Snow/ice: not driven yet :-[
Initial conclusion: not a bad tyre, just lacking the precision of a HP summer tyre.
Gives confidence in colder wet conditions with RWD.

Initial Impressions Review
Given 90% while driving a Audi Q7 (295/35 R21) on for 2,500 miles
Fitted all round my Audi Q7. Dry grip very good. Cornering good given its a heavy car. Braking excellent. Its a reinforced tyre and has handled pot holes and rough surfaces well. Used for fast country roads and motorway distances - giving confident road holding. Noise levels better than the AS210 I use on a RAV4.
