225/55 18 Tyre Review Highlights

Continental AllSeasonContact 2 rated 94% while driving a SEAT Ateca Xcellence
Driving on a combination of roads for 2000 spirited miles
Great tyre, low noise and great comfort vs the Turanza T005's it replaced. so far I have only done just over 2000 miles on them but really happy with the performance of them. its nice to have the confidence in cold weather and wet weather, they are a little worse in the dry but everything is a trade off.

Even though I went up in size on the side wall, I have not seen an increase in fuel consumption, most likely due to the lighter weight of the tyre itself

Continental ContiCrossContact LX 2 rated 52% while driving a Peugeot 3008
Driving on mostly town for 30000 average miles
these were OEM tires came with my 2018 peugeot 3008 allure 1.6 blue hdie eat6. I have used them for 6 years for now. I had great handling and good braking performance on dry smooth roads even on high speeds but on the other hand they were really harsh and uncomfortable on rough roads even on low speed. They were NOT labelled as M+S. And I would not recommend these tires on snow as the handling is very poor on snow. Once I suddenly looped going with 30 miles straight on snowy highway while the other cars had no trouble going on the same road. So I stopped and pulled back. Luckily I didn't had an accident. Now I have purchased Continental premium contact7 for summer and I am going to buy new winter tires for the next winter.

General Grabber HTS60 rated 100% while driving a Subaru 06 B9 Tribeca
Driving on a combination of roads for 63 spirited miles
These have been great tires and have lasted over 63k miles and are finally starting to get a bit hard and showing some cracks. I am about to put on my 3rd set so obviously I think they are great. I can't speak to snow because we change out to studded tires for winter.

Bridgestone Weather Control A005 EVO rated 62% while driving a Jeep Cherokee Limited 2015
Driving on a combination of roads for 17 average miles
Four EVOs were fitted in October 2021, and the wheels aligned. Initially, the tyres were very good, especially when combined with the Jeep Active Drive I 4x4 system. Very stable, comfortable, and quiet in all UK weather conditions, with no grip problems in the snow and ice, and no significant changes in previous fuel performance.

The tyres were rotated twice throughout their life, and the 4 wheels aligned again in early 2023.  The tyres were worn to 3 mm by 17,000 miles (27,358 km). By this point there was notable slippage on the front tyres when turning at slow speeds, especially in wetter conditions and overall, the tyres did not feel as planted on the road as they once were.

With low confidence in their grip ability at 3 mm, they were replaced with CC2s in December 2023. Hopefully, the longevity of the CC2s will be significantly better than the disappointing EVO’s.

Falken ZIEX ZE310 EcoRun rated 73% while driving a Jeep compass
Driving on mostly country roads for 8000 easy going miles
Bought the Falken ZIEX ZE310 EcoRun for the Jeep Compass 1.4 170hp 4x4 2019. Driving in this car is not sporty by any means so was looking for a mid range tyre for the daily commute. Drove around 10k kilometers and overall impressed especially by the aquaplaning results and wet weather handling. Always felt in full control even through heavy rainfall. Live in a mountain region so a lot of B road driving and poor quality roads, the tyre was pretty comfortable and more geared for an easy commute rather then more aggressive driving, going faster you are always in control however just does not have the grip. The tyre size and car itself do not help however previous hankoook ventus prime 3 felt better when pushed. Wear is average, a fair bit of difference in depth between the rear and front, got to take into account the 1.8t car weight does not help. I would recommend the tyre due to good price and safe handling in wet for a daily commute.

Bridgestone Dueler HP Sport rated 83% while driving a Subaru Forester
Driving on mostly motorways for 60000 easy going miles
Got these tyres brand new with my car but the standout feature is...the wear! These have lasted me 100,000km and only now do they need replacing. Will go for these again. All other traits are pass marks, never lost grip in wet etc.

Falken Ziex ZE001 AS rated 73% while driving a Subaru Forester
Driving on a combination of roads for 25000 average miles
This tires came OEM in my Subaru Forester, the tires are great, good grip in dry and wet, not noisy, and good feedback.
They are not made for performance but for confort and peace of mind.
My forester has 25 000 miles and still has about 35-40% of the tread.
Wont buy them again cuz they are hard to find and expensive.

Yokohama BluEarth RV02 rated 57% while driving a Nissan
Driving on mostly town for 17000 average miles
After less than 3 years my tyres had developed bad cracking at the bottom of every tread. I am now having to replace all four tyres despite them having plenty of wear left. This is clearly a fault with either materials or the manufacture of the tyres.

Nexen N Priz RH7 rated 44% while driving a Mitsubishi Outlander
Driving on a combination of roads for 8000 average miles
Just had them for about eight months
I'm not really impressed by the feedback.
wet driving driving is average , slippery even in light not snow.
Thought it was an upgrade from my previous Tigar SUV; which were effectively way better.
Do not recommend
