Hankook iON Evo
WatchThe Hankook iON Evo is a premium summer EV tyre that blends strong everyday refinement with standout test-winning performance. Professional tests consistently rate it at the top of the class for wet and dry grip, braking and handling, while drivers most often highlight its quiet, comfortable ride and EV-friendly efficiency. Where opinions diverge is in perceived sportiness: some owners find it less direct and confidence-inspiring when pushed hard compared with ultra-sport-focused tyres.

Review Summary
Based on 7 user reviews
Drivers generally describe the Hankook iON Evo as a quiet, comfortable, efficiency-focused tyre that suits EV daily driving well, with several high-scoring reviews praising low cabin noise and good range. However, a recurring theme is that grip and sportiness lag behind more performance-oriented tyres (e.g., PS4/PS5), especially in hard cornering and aggressive driving. A smaller subset of lower-scoring reviews report concerning dry grip/braking and slip, which heavily impacts confidence for sporty petrol-car use.
Strengths
- Quiet/low road noise
- Comfortable ride quality
- Good efficiency/low rolling resistance for ev use
- Good daily-driving manners
Areas for Improvement
- Limited grip and handling compared with sport-focused tyres
- Especially during hard cornering
- Less direct steering/overall reduced sportiness
Top 3 Hankook iON Evo Reviews
Fronts did 45k miles rear did 25k miles.
Could have pushed them more but became noisy at the end.
Efficiency amazing 180-190wh/mile. Cornering and traction amazing. Noise 2-3 dB lower cabin noise than my old PS4.
Amazing purchase.
Went back to them after having Continental Ultra contact NXT.
Strongly recommend. These are not the AS tyres.
AA traction and A temperature. 320 tread wear.
While comfort and noise levels are decent, the grip and handling are nowhere near what I expected. I only used them for about 5 months, but I’ve already lost confidence and decided to replace them. It seems this tyre is really more suited for EVs, not for petrol cars if you drive a bit more aggressively.
Enter the Hankook Ion Evo. After a 1000km break-in period, these tires have proven to be a noticeable improvement. They offer enhanced comfort and maintain the same serene quietness that I appreciated about the e Primacy. This improvement does come with a slightly higher trade-off in rolling resistance. Typically, on my usual routes, I achieved a minimum energy consumption of 9x Wh/km with the e Primacy. However, with the Ion Evo, this rises modestly to 10x Wh/km.
Despite this, I wholeheartedly recommend the Hankook Ion Evo for daily driving, especially for those prioritizing comfort and performance in wet conditions.

Latest Hankook iON Evo Reviews
Was swerving to avoid an object on the road, the tyre screeched loudly and provided just barely enough grip during that situation. If it was ps4 or ps5 in the same situation, there probably will not be any screeching and would have plenty of grip left over.
There are pros and cons compared to the stock Pirelli tires:
Pros:
- Quieter
- More comfortable
- Better grip in rain and wet conditions
- Slightly lighter steering feel
- Slightly easier acceleration straight of the line
- More efficient (+/- 1% less battery consumption per trip)
Cons:
- Steering feel and response are less direct
- Grip during hard cornering is not great
- Overall sportiness is diminished
For the daily (very) sporty driver, it may not be recommended, but for anyone outside this category, it is definitely worth considering.
