Audi A3 S Line Sportback 2.0 TDI 184 Tyre Review Highlights

Writing about the Michelin CrossClimate 2 given 84% (225-40-18-)
Driving on a combination of roads for 500 average miles
Recently put a full set of these tyres on my A3. They replaced the Michelin Pilot Sport 4's (which lasted for twenty thousand miles/three and a half years).
The Cross Climate 2's are a huge improvement when it comes to comfort and cabin noise. The PS 4's were very crashy on rough roads and they were noisy. The CC's are quieter and so much more forgiving. Time will tell how they perform in the winter months. I would recommend these tyres if you would like a more comfortable ride.

Driving on mostly motorways for 8000 average miles
Bought 4 new tyres, front two lasted one year approx 8k miles. For tyres this expensive would've expected to last a little longer. Driving was mostly motorway driving so to wear that bad would not buy again.

These tyres were fitted on my Audi A3 Sportback when I bought the car. They were virtually brand new so I thought happy days... How wrong I was! They're so noisy and unforgiving. Handling and grip is excellent. I'm glad they don't wear well, means I can swap them to a quieter tyre. Good Year Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2's will be what I go for next.

Driving on a combination of roads for 500 spirited miles
Previously had the Eagle F1 Assy 2's, very happy with all aspects, really couldn't fault so purchased again, however GY replaced with assy 3's. Still a great tyre for driveability, however rim protector is almost non existent, the alloy rims basically are level (at the best) with the rubber, this is not what I expected.

As well as looking a little odd my expensive alloys are now at risk, wouldn't purchase again and will change to another make soon with proper rim protectors, will have sell these on Exxxx.

Great tyres especially under heavy snow and also great for aquaplaning when passing at high speed in deep water. For winter these are very good and also when it comes to the money you pay for the quality.

Writing about the Dunlop SportMaxx RT given 81% (225-45-17-)
Driving on a combination of roads for 15000 spirited miles
Absolutely love these tydes, they're quiet, comfortable and have superb levels of grip in the dry, not terrible in the wet either. The only issue I have with them is wear rate, I've done two front sets in about 15,000 miles, so the wear is shocking, however for the performance they offer I will be ordering again.
