Performance Analysis

Drawn from 7 tests. Updated October 28, 2026.

The BFGoodrich Advantage All Season is a mid-field all-season tyre whose strengths are snow and dry braking. It was second of 17 for snow traction in Auto Bild's 2024 test, close to the winter reference tyre, and second of 16 in ADAC's 2025 test, and it posted the best snow slalom result in that Auto Bild test. Dry braking is consistently good: fourth of 16 with ADAC in 2025, and sixth of 17 and sixth of 18 in Auto Bild's 2024 and 2023 tests. It is efficient too, second for fuel consumption in both ADAC 2025 and Auto Bild 2024, and straight-line aquaplaning was second of 18 in Auto Bild's 2023 test.

Wet roads are the weakness. Wet braking was 15th of 17 in Auto Bild's 2024 test, about 24% longer than the best, and 18th of 30 in both the 2025 and 2026 Auto Bild braking tests, while wet handling was 15th of 17 and 14th of 18, with testers noting understeer. Running costs count against it as well: ADAC found it the most expensive tyre per kilometre and predicted the third-lowest mileage, and Auto Bild placed it 13th of 16 for wear in 2023, although its 2024 test was kinder at seventh of 15. Overall it finished between seventh and tenth in the full tests, and ADAC rated it satisfactory.

2025 ADAC All Season Tyre Test

ADAC 225/45 R17

The BFGoodrich Advantage All-Season tyre does not surpass a "satisfactory" rating in either driving safety or environmental performance, leading to a satisfactory overall grade. On dry roads, it performs well, offering good steering feedback, precision, and safe handling at the limit, along with a significantly shorter-than-average braking distance. However, on wet surfaces, its performance is only satisfactory. It fails to deliver good results in braking and aquaplaning tests, and its handling is also rated as merely satisfactory because it struggles to combine lateral and longitudinal forces, leading to early understeer or oversteer. In contrast, the tyre is convincing in winter conditions, earning good ratings for its braking, traction, and secure handling on snow. Environmentally, the tyre just misses a good rating due to its projected mileage, though its wear, fuel consumption, and weight are all rated as good.
