I've recently bought a secondhand BMW 530d which had a full set of these on when I got it. Initial impresions were good, with reasonable levels of grip and feedback. Then it started raining. Oh my lord, they are truely shocking in the wet! On a large roundabout traveling at around 25mph I first had oversteer, then understeer took over, finally slewing back into oversteer again. Any throtle input combined with steering lock results in the car sliding on wet roads - I can certainly see why they are called "Event"!
I've covered around 7000 miles on them since i bought the car and, although they are only around 70% worn I've had enough. With winter looming I've ordered a set of Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2's. I really can't wait to see the Events going into the skip - its where they belong.

Well, I got rid of the Federals and fitted the Event tyres.I have driven up and down from Scotland to Surrey several times now on motorways, a little noisy, but have driven through heavy rain and am more than pleased with the way the tyres performed.I hasten to add that I rarely drive at the limit.

Bought two for the front of my 2001 SLK. These are OK in the dry providing reasonable amounts of grip, however the combination of decent premium tyres on the back and these on the front means massive understeer in the wet. I can't recommend these for a performance car if you actually want to go round bends in the wet. However, They are lasting very well.

Definitely not a performance tyre. Not much grip in the dry and considerably less in the wet, but they are very progressive and advertise the fact that they are going to let go very well. This makes them great fun to drive on, and you end up steering more with the throttle than with the steering wheel. Good fun comedy tyre for messing about on but not really a good road tyre.

These are fine for what they are, but they're not performance tyres. Perfectly fine on a family saloon!

I was a bit sceptical about budget tyres until I needed to replace all 4 in one go and didn't want to foot the bill for premium tyres. I must say that I am pleasantly surprised by these tyres. Admittedly, fitted to a Rover 75 diesel I don't exactly drive them on the limit! But in reality they aren't half bed. Grip is OK in the wet and dry and noise is better than the winter tyres that I took off. Also the rate of wear doesn't seem to be too bad. If I have any gripes it is that when new the tyre has 7mm of tread rather than 8mm as you would expect on most new tyres, but if I shop around I can get these for a third of the price that a premium tyre sells for. Good value as far as I'm concerned and I will definately be buying again for my rather sedate saloon! Maybe not the best choice for a more spirited driver though!

Good tyres for reasonable price. One negative issue - compared even to my wintertyres these tyres are highly noisy. Driving on brick paved roads produces much noise. Maybe, that's because I've always had premium rubber before these tyres.

A very good all round tyre.
Reasonably priced, refined which suited the nature of the Rover 75.
Excellent wear rate as the car was mainly driven on A & B roads.
Positive steering feedback.
An excellent tyre.
