Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 delivers a broadly balanced summer performance with frequent top-tier finishes early in its lifecycle and solid efficiency. Across 21 summer tests it averages a competitive 4.5th, including multiple podiums and wins (Sport Auto 2016: 1/8; Test World 2016: 3/13 with best wet braking; Auto Bild SUV 2017: 1/10; several 2nd places). Its recurring strengths are short dry stops, stable wet handling, and class-leading or near-class-leading rolling resistance. However, against newer rivals it trends mid-pack in later tests and shows recurring weaknesses in wet braking relative to the very best, plus average-to-poor subjective comfort/noise. As a reference summer tyre in the 2024 Sport Auto all-season test it dominated dry metrics but was understandably poor on snow and weak in wet braking versus all-season peers.
Patterns show: consistently strong dry braking, competitive wet handling/aquaplaning resistance, and excellent efficiency; offset by intermittent wet braking deficits and middling subjective handling/comfort. Awards and podium density support an above-average overall standing for a previous-generation UHP tyre.
