Driving on a combination of roads for 16000 spirited miles
These tyres were pretty much universally praised on online forums but having used them for 16,000 miles I have my reservations.
I cannot criticize their grip, wet or dry they are rather difficult to unstick. However I do have a problem with their wear characteristics and their road manners. When I first used them, I noticed that the car was tram-lining more readily than on the old tyres and the tyres themselves were rapidly wearing into a saw tooth pattern which I haven't experienced with any other tyre. I checked the tracking and the front toe was minus seven minutes from spec (not a lot but I duly corrected it). Even so the saw tooth patterns remained until I rotated the tyres diagonally across the car. Tyre pressures were regularly checked so were not the cause, which leads me onto my next criticism- Noise and comfort. On some surfaces these tyres are much noisier than a premium tyre, and the ride quality, too, is way behind that of the premium tyres.
Finally, for me these tyres were only 15% cheaper than Continentals. For these reasons I believe I'll be going for Continentals or Vredesteins next.

Driving on mostly town for 1000 average miles
I have two of these new on the rear of my new/old BMW and they are downright dangerous in the wet. They are pretty good in the dry with higher psi, but given Melbourne's random weather (40C at midday, monsoon by night) I still am not happy exposing my woman and young boy to the danger posed by these when it rains in case the traction control doesn't save me, it kicks in unless I take off like a grandma even with the slushbox set to 'winter' which takes off in 2nd. Perhaps they are better on other cars but I would certainly recommend to get other tyres if you have a heavy RWD sedan!

I had these fitted to 1988 BMW 530i all round to get rid of the rubbish budgets it had when I bought it. As expected it transformed the drive of the car. Much more than I expected, these are so quiet compared to before. The dry and wet grip is awesome! Ive never had the back end kick out once, its like driving on rails now.

As for the reviews about using them in the snow they obvously overlooked the fact these are summer tyres! They were never made to be used in the snow.

If you want a great summer tyre with loads of grip rain or shine then these are what you need!

Brilliant, tried these on a few cars now and have never been disapointed, went from Dunlop SP Sports to these and they are so much better, particularly in the wet, massive front end grip, and progressive oversteer, very easy to drive fast. Also they are a very smooth and quiet tyre, great on the motorway but responsive enough for country lanes. They are much less prone to tramlining, a problem with these BMWs, which is obviously an advantage. Cant comment too much on wear rates, but the price of them is a huge bonus, they are easily the equal of 'premium' brand tyres, unless you drive like Senna on the public roads. Having said that they hang on the same as the best of them. Will definately buy again.
