Best Tyres for the Volvo S90

These tyres were exceptional, when I got them in December 2022, they did a solid 55,000 km over all terrain over 2 years, I got them for a trip to the Scottish Highlands in early January of so there was lots of inclement weather to challenge them and a lot of motorway milage after that, I did rotate them and track them regularly, i think if i have paid more attention towards end of life I'd have seen another 5k km out of them, it was uneven wear in the end that meant they needed replacing.
I have never felt such traction to the road with tyres like the CC, every surface, every time, I felt so planted to the road.
I replaced them with Bridgestone Turanza 6s as I was interested to see would I see any notable fuel diffence in an A rated from a C rated, I did not, and being A rated they have worn alot quicker, I'll be returning to AS tyres next time. Unfortunatley the CC3s are not out in my size though so might have to try elsewhere.

Great tires my Volvo S90 Inscription T8 with 455 HP has amazing traction we are very happy with the purchase.

Coming from a continental Conti pro TX before these tires failed to keep the same levels of comfort/road noise and provide a little more performance at the same time. I will say they did handle very well with plenty of grip when new especially but now worn down they are struggling to keep those same levels of traction. I probably have about 3-4K miles left on them and I fear thats being very generous, they wore down very uneven due to just how wide the shoulder section of the tread is. the tires still have plenty of tread left in the center but on each side they are almost bald, not really happy about that. I am very unhappy about the tread life. This tire also gets your car extremely dirt very easily due to the large shoulders and sipes on each tire which kick up rocks and almost anything it runs over. overall id say it deserves a 6.5/10.

If you drive a car of which NVH won’t be much affected by the tires these Contis are are very precise and definitely give a sporty feel. But if you are concearned about NVH then be warned that these tires produce excesssive amounts of noise and are quite harsh rising. Not a tire to buy for comfort. Changed them for Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmteric 6’s and the difference is night and day.

Very good tyres for that range of price. Dry and wet grip performance are quite good for a budget tyre. The wear i will see, only have 1000 km with them. Volvo S90 T8 Plug-in R-Design with a weight of 2150kg, 245/40R20.

Really happy with my Avon WV7 winter tyres, have used them for the last two winters and can't finding anything to fault.

I have used winter tyres for years and have owned sets from Goodyear, Vredestiein, Nokian and Avon (ice touring ST's). I can honestly say the Avon's are very underrated and represent superb value for money. Their performance certainly stands shoulder to shoulder with the premium brands.

My present summer tyres are Michelin Primacy 3's and these Avon's offer just as much comfort and steering feedback as the Michelin's. The Avon's perform better on wet roads (and are certainly better at dealing with standing water than the Michelin's) as you would expect from a winter tyre. Where the Avon's really impress however is with their ability on the warmer days of winter (10+ degrees celsius). On these days they perform very much like the Michelin's, certainly the best of any winter tyre I have used to date.

I therefore suspected this may impact on their snow/ice performance but no, they seem to cope admirably in these conditions too. I drive several miles on ungritted (and hilly) rural roads each day and the WV7's are a very balanced tyre. I've never got stuck or felt close to losing control so they have all the winter abilities I require.

Each time I buy a car invariably it is fitted with Pirelli / Bridgestone tyres and I've learnt to change to Avon's when it's time to change tyres. Latest car came with Pirelli P Zero, a good tyre especially in the dry, but with 20 inch wheels they were too hard and a noisy. Tendency to find every little road imperfection and I guessed the car would feel better on Avons and it does, a little reduced noise and a significant improved ride quality. I don't know if it's because they are made in UK but Avon's suit British climate and roads, they seem to be more flexible in cold wet weather than many brands which gives you very good assurance and grip. They hold on well in wet or dry, never had a problem with wheelspin at junctions on wet roads where you need to pull out quickly. Overall I cannot fault the tyres and of course they are significantly less expensive than other brands. Wear not fully tested yet on these ZZ5s hence lower score, but I know from previous Avon's wear isn't normally an issue.

Had these tyres for 6k miles. Very competent tyres in dry and wet conditions. I would find them better than the flagship Hankook sports tyres I had on the E class.

However, I don't know if it is the car or the tyres. Comfort and ride is not great and the tyres feel very differently depending on the PSI.
