245/45 16 Tyre Review Highlights

Bridgestone Potenza S01 rated 93% while driving a Porsche 928 GT
Driving on mostly country roads for 12000 spirited miles
I had several sets of these tyres in Porsche OEM N-Spec. They are noisy and uncomfortable. So what? Porsche themselves required that if a car was ordered with these tyres and sport suspension that the order had to be confirmed to make sure that there hadn't been a mistake.

This is a sad reflection upon the sort of people who bought Porsche 928 cars new. The combination of Bridgestone S-01 tyres and Sport Suspension is what driving a Porsche is all about. The faster you go the better it gets!

They are a WONDERFUL driving tyre. Fabulous grip, amazing turn-in and absolutely predictable at the limit. I found myself anticipating an amount of understeer which had been present in all the other tyres I had used, This was replaced by wonderful bite and turn-in with the S-01 (Porsche N Spec.)

The Porsche 928 S4 calls of 44 PSI in the rear tyres which causes some tyres to wear in the middle and become useless in the wet. These tyres are simply the best I ever had on my Porsche 928 in 200,000 miles of driving. If you want to drive like grandma get something else, but if you want to use the car as intended and drive it really hard these are very, very good tyres. Sharp response, wonderful feel, and very well-behaved.

Kumho Ecsta V720 rated 70% while driving a Honda S2000
Driving on a combination of roads for 5000 spirited miles
Fantastic tyres for summer although slightly loud. They hold 500hp at the rear wheels great. Cheap and will definitely biy then again

Hankook DynaPro ATM RF10 rated 79% while driving a Nissan Navara 2.5tdi
Driving on mostly country roads for 2000 average miles
only had them on for 3 months when a small stick went through the sidewall on one of my back tyres , had to throw it away and buy a new one ,, am thinking that maybe the sidewall is very thin ?? would love some feedback from anyone that's had a similar problem ..

Toyo T1R rated 80% while driving a TVR griffith
Driving on a combination of roads for 15000 spirited miles
Fitted to a TVR Griffith 500. Side walls are a little softer than the Bridgestone S03s they replaced but overall a very good all round performance tyre.

Nexen N3000 rated 50% while driving a Nissan 300ZX
Driving on a combination of roads for 6000 spirited miles
For what it's worth, my 300zx TT has 245/45 Nexen N3000's all round and the bottom line is that the rear in the wet is just "not funny" dangerous. So, if you have a performance RWD car, either don't drive in the wet or drive like an OAP. In my case, the latter. Great price however, just the grip is always on my mind.

The front tyres need replacing and so will probably move the rear's to the front and go for quality rear tyres. Originally it had Bridgestone Potenza's on it, and they worked an absolute treat. Would prefer peace of mind over the budget in this case.

Toyo T1R rated 81% while driving a Nissan 300ZX
Driving on a combination of roads for 4000 spirited miles
After having Toyo T1S i said i would never buy Toyo again. But a friend said to have this and i found this to be a very good on the rear of a 350BHP car

Toyo T1R rated 80% while driving a Toyota supra turbo
Driving on a combination of roads for 100 spirited miles
For the price a superb buy for the HIGHER performance vehicles. I have had most makes of performance tyre and non can touch the T1R - admittedly I only get around 8k out of a set, but that says something for the grip. Always replace all four is the trick to superb grip, feedback and general stability. Those who say this tyre is no good have absolutely no idea! That said it may depend on the car and the way it is set up, get it all right and these tyres will provide endless fun.

Bridgestone Potenza s02 rated 86% while driving a TVR griffith
Driving on a combination of roads for 15000 spirited miles
These tyres are brilliant, it's a shame you can't get them anymore. The relpacement bridgestone s03 doesn't suit the griff as well and don't seem as good as the s02.
