Tyrereviews asked me to post a review about these tyres at the end of the life. I still have the original 16 wheels with these tyres and they are still good even if they are old. I just don't used them that often because 17 OEM wheels are wider and looking much better. AD09 on 17 wheels seems wierd and not as agile as S02 even if they are very safe ,even in colder weather.

I have these tyres for few months.
Basically for having fun on mountain roads and yesterday i had a track day comparing them with AD09 on my S2000.
Much better than Yokohama except wearing.
Better lap times, cornering speed and overall feeling. Steering was on point
Wear is disastrous like most Bridgestone street tyres if pushed hard. They can handle few laps like qualifying tyres or a summer of fun on twisty roads but not more.
I had a track day yesterday comparing Ad09 and Potenza Race on my stock S2000.
No wonder Yokohama are rated as Mid Range tyres.
The feeling i had was the same feeling i hed with Ad08RS on my Prelude. S2000 is just fun to drive but not efficient on the same tyres.
Ad09 were sliding everywhere, not very good cornering speed in tight corners and loosing the rear very easily with only 240 hp. More you drive the worse they feel.
Maybe on modern cars with aids and TCS and different geometry are better but for cars like s2000 they are slow and annoying if you are looking for lap times. Better than Ad08RS on the same car but still not a proper track tyre in my opinion.
For spirited driving, touge or having fun they are more than enough tho .
Wear is very good comparing with Potenza Race for example.
I had a track day comparing these with Ad09 and Potenza Race. They weren't new but looking like new. On S2000 they are slow, no feeling in the steering wheel. A lot of undestee ring when the pressure increase. Didn't like them on this car
Have these on my S2000, it has no traction control, so wanted a tyre with awesome grip. Finding it a very predictable tyre, fits an S2000 very well.

All is well until it rains and then I loose the back end of my Honda S2000 on a roundabout at 25mph. I wasn't even pushing it and it sacred me to death. It then did it again in the same trip. Not heavy rain. I've immediately replaced them for a much better rated tyre.
Very good tires for cornering. Might be one of the best ever made. But only when is hot outside. ! You can easily lose everything when you are too confident and temperature is beyond 20 Celsius. They wear very fast and they are quite noisy . But the fun on the Twisties is priceless.
Rs4 gives amazing grip but only in the most ideal conditions. Getting temp into these tyres is quite difficult, but once warmed up they grip very well. The grip is predictable but certainly not the best. Works very well in sunny weather. Cooler weather or rain makes it more difficult. Speaking of rain, this is not an all season kind of tyre so can't expect the best traction from this set. The sidewall is stiff and gives great response and feedback, but high road noise as an unfortunate compromise. The stiffness does compound if you run a higher spring rate or high dampening but can be OK as an all season however not recommended. Wear on the tyre is very good, long lasting with this harder compound. Don't expect comfort but this is a good track or weekend mountain carving tyre.
Well . I replaced my tires with these a month ago. Unused yet, held somewhere unsold but manufactured some time ago because they don't do these anymore. They are made in Japan. Rubber still soft without cracks.
The main reason I bought these tires is because my car came from the factory with these. Even if they are old I wanted to know the feeling of driving my car completely stock and feel it how it was made to be driven.
The results ? I shaved more than 1.5 sec off my best time I ever had on local track. I tried before different Potenza ,Yokohama , Firehawk and other street tires.
Definitely the best street tires I ever tried.
Most race prepared cars on slicks or semi can't beat my stock Ap1 on these. Short technical Supermoto track .
Even at the limit the car does what I expect .That snap oversteer, those uncontrollable slides they are all gone ! And I can take any corner faster and brake later than I can do with any other tires I had before.
No wonder these tires are on the cover of Gran Turismo original game.
The only regret I have is I have no other chances to buy these anymore. I would pay in gold for such street tires.
Brilliant tires for track or Touge !
I recently purchased these after watching many tyre reviews. I initially wanted to buy the contact 7's but I couldn't find them available and they would've been more than double the price. This is my first experience with a brand name tire, until now I've had random aftermarket and used tires. These tires have completely changed my cars drivability. I was always afraid to drive my car in the rain since the rear wheels would kick out constantly, but now I have this confident tenacious grip of the road. I drive spirited but not track- no drifting but lots of hard cornering. The wheel feels sharp and responsive. These have improved my driving experience by 100%!
