Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperSport
A properly focused max-performance summer tyre with superb dry grip and razor-sharp steering, offering genuine track-day pace for the money. The trade-offs are efficiency and refinement, and wet stopping distances can be less consistent than the very newest rivals.
The Eagle F1 SuperSport feels every bit like a driver's tyre: it repeatedly stands out for dry grip, incisive steering response and confidence-inspiring dry handling, whether you're pressing on on the road or doing the occasional track session. That tallies with owners describing “immediate” grip and excellent feedback, and with group tests frequently praising how accurately it carries speed and hits lines. It also holds up well to heat for spirited use, and many see it as strong value versus key premium alternatives.
In mixed conditions it's generally capable for a UUHP tyre, with good wet grip and often strong wet handling balance, but it isn't the most consistent all-rounder in the latest test cycles: wet braking is a recurring weak spot in several comparisons, so the safety margin in heavy rain can vary by size/test. Day-to-day refinement is the other big compromise-ride can feel firm and busy over bumps, and noise results are often mid-pack to poor (even if some owners find it acceptable for the category). Efficiency is the clear Achilles' heel, with rolling resistance regularly near the bottom of tests. Wear is also a bit of a lottery: some report impressive mileage even with track days, while a meaningful minority see rapid wear and a drop-off as the tyre ages. It best suits enthusiastic drivers prioritising steering and dry performance over comfort, economy and the last word in wet braking.

The BEST Performance Summer Tyres for 2026 Tested! P4 of 8
As I said throughout the test, I am very glad I had the Goodyear Eagle F1 Super Sport in the test. I really enjoyed driving it. It's reconfirmed the fact I've recommended this to a lot of people a lot of times As a fast road/track tyre, every single person has been really happy with my recommendation. I think now it's just starting to show its age. It couldn't quite match the best in the dry and its rolling resistance is very high but it is still a very good tyre. I assume it's going to be priced very well for its longevity, My gut tells me this will be the best-wearing tyre here, although I don't have any data to prove that, so ignore me.

Hi, I’m looking for replacement tyres for my BMW e85 Z4M. OEM rear sizing (255/40/18) means my choice is limited, so no PS4S or SportContact7. Current options are Michelin PS5, Michelin PSS or GY Eagle F1 SuperSports. The car is driven on weekends between April and October, with 1 or 2 track days per year maximum. What do you recommend?
Kind Regards

Unfortunately the sizes that I currently have on my car I have only a few alternatives (no more Pirelli Pzero AR!): Michelin Pilot Sport CUP 2, Goodyear Eagle F1 Supersport and Supersport R. My driving is 5% track and 95% road. Ambient temperatures are in the range 5-35 ° C and the car is an Alfa Romeo 4C: what do you recommend? Show less

Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperSport Owner Reviews
Review this tyreWhat owners say summarised from 61 reviews
Most owners agree the Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperSport delivers outstanding dry grip and confidence, backed up by sharp steering response and strong dry handling, with many also praising its stability when driven hard. Wet grip is generally rated good for a UUHP tyre, though around one in ten owners specifically criticise wet handling, and a similar share note it can struggle in colder conditions. Comfort is the main compromise: close to three in ten owners find it too firm or unsettled over bumps. Tread life is more mixed, with a meaningful minority reporting rapid wear (especially on higher-torque use) while others see impressive longevity for the category.

The Goodyear SuperSport tires deliver immediate feedback and precise handling. The best part is how they completely changed the behavior of my S3 3‑door: it used to push from the nose, but with these tires the front end finally bites and the rear becomes playful.
The car is so much more fun to drive now.
They’re also almost indestructible, especially compared to Pirelli and Michelin (which have their own strengths, but durability isn’t one of them).
I really enjoyed these tires and would absolutely buy them again — unless Goodyear releases a new SuperSport.
Thanks, Goodyear. Great work.

Initial Impressions90% 23,000 milesi've tried these tyres in different cars, one is a c63 MB and the on an audi s3 , the main difference the size of the tyres, on the 225, these tires are comfy and very low noised, on the other even nd on the 275 noise is louder , comfort about the same.
thats it thats my only criticism. handling, cant be better baking damn .. face gesture making.. and all these with very good comfort levels. traction and steering response amazing. im really glad i purchased these instead of the asymmetric ...performance level is up without real compromise.

This is not really a road review. I bought these tyres to use on a road going GTi type car after the Tyre Reviews assessment that they had great wear life compared to other tyres when used on track. The car is used daily for "normal" car stuff, but does get occasional use on track because I am involved in running track events, so I wanted a tyre that I could drive around daily, then go to track, do the occasional 5 or 6 laps, and drive home again, without stress.
Road driving, you can feel they have a stiff carcase and so you pick up far more of the high frequency bumps than some other tyres. In normal, sensible, road driving they are not deficient in anything that is going to scare you. As I drive on a lot of B roads to go to work I was always aware that in wet conditions, the stiff carcase is not communicating to you about the limits as much as some would. On a wider road this may be less of a concern. It is not a tyre I would chose to run through the winter, because there are better UHP options for that, but could if required. I never felt close to death!
On a dry track however, I thought they were very good. They do need a bit of heat, particularly the rear on a FWD car, which can give some hilarious oversteer if you try too hard too quickly. With some heat however, dry grip was impressively good and in my view would lose nothing of note to any of the budget road going semi slick tyres like the NS-2R in the same sort of driving, and likely offer more road performance on the way home. Heat management also seemed good, but track driving length would have never been more than 15 minutes at most. While more focused track tyres like Direzza or AO52 would offer more ultimate grip, on a standard road car, the extra grip giving extra stress on suspension, is not required. I can't comment on wet track driving because those circumstances never occurred, but I while potentially not the best option for the wet, I cannot see them being any worse than any of the dedicated or occasional track tyres.
As these were on a second set of rims, they did not get a great deal of road use because the other choice was Cont SportContact 7, which I prefer as a road tyre as they are more comfortable and have, in my view, better general all round performance. However the Conti, while capable of putting in a very respectable lap, will suffer from heat build up and degradation far quicker than the Goodyear. Driving three to 4 lap, repetitive stints, at a charity passenger ride track event at Croft circuit saw the tyre able to generate enough consistent grip to burn the paint off the cars standard brake calipers (not standard brake pads) without the tyre going off. The impressive part was wear rate was very good with no blistering, chunking or rapid wear.
I have now "retired" these tyres as they are three years old. Being on a second set of rims, but preferring the Conti for most things, they were not getting used. When they did get used, first time in about 12 months, at Donington in July, I did think they were understeery and past their best, particularly in Redgate, even though there was 3mm tread left.
So, for me, I prefer the Conti, but, were I faced with a choice of new tyres to have to use on a dry track event with repetitive lapping, it would be the Goodyear and if not the out right fastest of those two tyres, it would be very close, but it would definitely be the most consistent and longest lasting by quite a way.

Initial Impressions83% 5,000 milesAs a performance summer tyre this is hard to fault. Is direct, giving good turn in and feed back, on FWD at least, and, with a little bit of heat, very good grip. Braking is positive as well. It is not the tyre if you want super comfort as it is quite stiff, so you notice bumps more so than some other tyres. It is less competent in the wet, possibly because it runs cooler. Straight wet braking still seemed good, but more care is required in corners than maybe some other tyres if you are attempting to push on, including accelerating out of corners. It is certainly not terrible in the wet however. I do occasionally track my car, but I have absolutely wanted to avoid using full track day tyres, that I have used on other cars and so these are a second set of tyres. Their performance on track, for a "normal" road tyre is exemplary. I don't feel disadvantaged at all over track tyres and the wear rate is very good. If you were going to plough round Anglesey all day, then you may have an issue, but lots of 5 to 6 lap sessions around UK circuits and they are still good to be left on all summer.

So far so good. These came in as OE in my audi s5. So I dont have experience with other tires in this car.
Still, the way I can turn my handles and not lose grip is impressive. I experienced minimal roll, I think the car also contributes a bit on this aspect.
When the tire is warmed up and is dry, I have much confidence to push.
I dont like to drive hard in the wet, so I cant say much on that part.
The wear is surprisingly not bad. Maybe its because I dont do track days.
I do push my tires/car time to time, launches and fast braking, driving in curvy mountain roads etc. But the treads seem quite ok at 16000km (~10000miles)
Comfort level, not so great, not so bad. But who would buy this tire expecting high comfort level right? At least its not destroying my butt, I am fine.
Would definitely buy again. But the price of these tires are quite through the roof in Korea at the moment. I really like these tires, but I will definitely try other brands for comparison as well.
Good tire for sure.

Great feedback, great grip — the tyre never let me down.
Only downside is less stiff sidewalls compared to the PZ4, though this could be due to it being an Audi spec compound.

I liked the way these tyres sat on the wheel (235/35/19 on a 8j wheel). The sidewalls were flat which I like (I don't like rounded sidewalls) and offered some curb protection. However you're never really going to be safe from the curbs with low profile tyres.
I've used multiple premium brands in my 26 years of driving and Goodyear have always been well balanced. I've used Eagle F1 Asymmetric 1, 2 and 3 in the past and they were very good. The Supersport once again were very good performers overall. I can't fault them in the warm and dry and I pushed them hard. In the cold and wet I can't recall any time when they let me down either. The only downside to the Supersport is they seem to be quite stiff because I could feel all the bumps in the road. The advantage to this was the steering was spot on.
I once had to hit the brakes to avoid a collision and although these did skid, they stopped the car just in time so I guess they did their job. That's what you pay premium brands for.
If choosing between Supersport and Asymmetric, I'd go with Asymmetric. For everyday driving the Asymmetric will be more comfortable. The only advantage I can see with the Supersport is if you plan to push your car hard.

On daily driving the tyre is working absolutely fine and does have always grip. Except the temperature is below 10 degrees and it's wet. Than the tyre struggles with grip. The michelin pilot sport 4s is here better.
But on the another hand, the tyre is working also on a trackday very good. It doesn't have the ultimate grip like a cup2, but it is consistent, and it doesn't overhead. The grip is high, and the tyre does not fall apart when driven hard. Also, the tyre wear on a track or on a windy road is simply amazing! Even when if you drift, the tyre wear is really good. I mean, when you drift, the wear is always high, but this tyre was able to take some hard beating!
I would definitely buy it again, but goodyear stopped to produce this tyre in my size.
But the feedback, the durability and the grip was absolutely amazing for a road tyre!
