Scoring Process
  1. Collect Test Data: Gather results from professional tyre tests across multiple publications. Minimum 1 test(s) required.
  2. Normalize Positions: Convert test positions to percentile scores using exponential weighting (factor: 1.2).
  3. Apply Recency Weighting: More recent tests are weighted higher with a decay rate of 0.95.
  4. Incorporate User Reviews: Factor in user review data (minimum 5 reviews). Weight: 15%.
  5. Bayesian Smoothing: Apply Bayesian prior (score: 7, weight: 1.5) to prevent extreme scores with limited data.
  6. Calculate Final Score: Combine all components using normalization factor of 1.1. Max score with limited data: 9.5.

Drivers report the Nokian Wetproof 1 as a high-value touring tyre with strong safety and confidence, especially in the wet where grip and braking are frequently praised. Many also note predictable, forgiving handling near the limit along with good comfort and noticeably lower road noise versus some competitors. A smaller but recurring theme is that wear can be a bit faster than expected, and several UK buyers mention the tyre can be harder to source locally.

Given 94% while driving a Opel Astra H 1.7 CDTI (205/55 R16) on a combination of roads for 2,000 spirited miles
Bought them for 71$ per tire. The tire is very safe on dry road. The first thing I noticed compared to the old set is much much better road feel and control. The tire is very predictive, and safe for driving. Wet grip is also excelent, although I didn't have a chance to test the high speed grip on a wet road. For standard road tire, this is more than enough.

there is something wrong with these tyres, it makes my suv springy, bumpy, shaky...

Given 84% while driving a Skoda Octavia (225/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 150 average miles
Great value for money. Forgiving performance when nearing grip limit with a nice linear profile. They do seem to wear out a little faster though but overall a superb value offering from the Finnish manufacturer.

Given 91% while driving a Honda Accord CTDi (205/55 R16) on for 60,000 miles
Absolute fine tyre for dry hot summers aswell (35C+), won't harden or crack when stored properly in winter. After 60k miles, tread separation/break started to show.

Initial Impressions Review
Given 70% while driving a Toyota RAV4 Hybrid 4x4 2023. (225/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 0 spirited miles
I tested these tires on a hybrid AWD RAV4. The car was a rental; I work delivering cars and I drive a lot, changing cars frequently. I drove on a route full of curves and roundabouts at a brisk pace, and despite the car being tall and heavy, the tires were very comfortable, without compromising road grip. Of course, the steering felt slightly softer on turn-in, but the lateral grip was incredible, as was the braking. These are truly excellent tires in terms of price, safety, and comfort. If they perform well on a 2-ton hybrid SUV with plenty of power, they will be more than excellent for smaller, regular cars.

Given 73% while driving a Lexus NX 300h (225/60 R18) on mostly motorways for 0 average miles
Hmmm...all good only a little aquaplaning and fast wear ,hard to find in UK,I buy them from Italy, maybe I can go to 18.000 miles with them, now I have 5.000 miles, all around good tyres,if you want longevity go for Michelin, but price it will go (long)evity too LOL.

Given 81% while driving a BMW 330e (255/35 R19) on mostly country roads for 16,000 average miles
Lots of grip. Good steering response and feedback, slightly understeering under pressure, but in an undramatic and controllable manner.

Given 84% while driving a Opel Astra K 1.6 CDTI (205/55 R16) on mostly motorways for 2,000 average miles
Bought them to replace a worn set of Michelin energy saver.
They are very comfortable and much more silent than the Michelin.
If you want to decrease the road noise this is the perfect tyre for you.
It is not a performance tyre by any means but you can feel when it's losing grip in the dry, they lose it in a linear fashion.
I am quite happy with this buy until now.
Will update this review after testing wet performance and wear.

Given 81% while driving a Volkswagen Touran 1.5 TSI (205/60 R16) on a combination of roads for 6,000 average miles
Extremely nice price to value ratio. Decent grip in dry conditions, great grip in wet conditions. I already put 10,000 kms into them. They are still doing great but of course you can see that they started to wear. No dry rot, no weird cracks. In conclusion I am very happy with them.

Budget price, feels like a premium tyre. Very safe and predictable in all weathers, appears to be wearing well. Not easy to source. Mine were imported into the UK from Germany.
