195/55 15 Tyre Review Highlights

Hankook Ventus Prime 3 K125 rated 81% while driving a Volkswagen Polo 6R 1.6 Tdi Bluemotion
Driving on a combination of roads for 10000 spirited miles
Been fitted on my Polo for more than a year now. The grip on dry road is exceptional, way more than I was used to with my old Goodyear efficient grip perf. even when these were new. The car is planted and stable at cornering and aggressive inputs to the steering wheel. Dry braking is also very good. I've pushed these tyres hard on twisty mountain roads and I can tell you these are very good performers.

In the rain they perform well and with no surprise. No aquaplanning noted but always driving safely when wet.

Wear seems a bit much, they appear to be at 75% life remaining after one year and 15000Km. This was to be expected from the good dry grip. You lose some you win some.

I'd buy again for the price and performance but I hope the new pattern will be available on my size when I change these.

Hankook Ventus V12 evo2 rated 74% while driving a Ford Fiesta
Driving on mostly country roads for 30000 average miles
First 10,000 ~ 12,000 miles were impressive. While cornering i noted a slight tendence to understeer on slippery under some conditions where regular tyres (i drive other car with "economy tyres") behave as they should. Breaking under wet conditions (straight) is quite good but when slightly cornering and breaking story could be different activating other car systems (ABS, TCS or ESP). Wear, visually, is not very noticeable but it does in perfomance so i understand this is a normal condition on "mid-tier" UHP tyres however this is why after 20,000 miles i will another set of new Ventus in my car, yes i will buy them again.

PS - OEM tyres were Hankook Optimo H426 which used to have limited contact with the road. :P

Hankook Ventus Prime 4 rated 80% while driving a
Driving on a combination of roads for 100 spirited miles
Previously was using Goodyear Triplemax 2 at the front and Ventus Prime 3 at the rear. Changed all 4 to Ventus Prime 4 just a few days ago and here is the difference -

Positive points
1. Less understeer
2. Felt the car glides smoother on the road.

Negative points
1. Slightly less steering feel.

I will update more as I drive.

My first sporty tyre and it was marvelous completely changed handling of the car. I felt much more in control in all conditions. Wet braking is staggering, I would never think I could stop so fast in greasy conditions. I feel much safer behind the wheel and have much more fun driving, really recommend it.

Davanti DX390 rated 63% while driving a Skoda
Driving on mostly town for 1000 easy going miles
Had these tires installed last summer as suggested by the dealer, although I wanted hankooks I listened to the dealer. Driven in the city,winter came, changed to winter wheels.this summer installed the davanti wheels back. My wife told me that she feels a strange vibration in the steering wheel at about 110/120. Drove the car and had the same sensation. Went to mechanics,changed some parts. Same vibration. Went to have geometry of direction done and those mechanics suggested to their colleagues to check the tires. Tires ovalized. Called the dealer ( tires have 1000 miles- so in warranty)- solution have the tires inspected by them. Installed new 4 all season tires at different shop.that mechanic also confirmed that the davanti are not round anymore. He suggested to not resell them . Sent the davanti to the dealer and waiting for their feedback. I want my money back and never again will buy this brand of tires. Also in summer at a trafic light 60-0 km/h emergency break abs activated. Also when I break they are noisy.

Toyo Celsius AS2 rated 94% while driving a Skoda
Driving on a combination of roads for 2800 average miles
These tires are the most comfortable i have ever had. they do very well in snow and on wet. I compared these tires to Nexen winter tires and Michelin Energy Saver summer tires. The consumption in summer has increased with 0.3 percent in city on average. Outside the city there is no difference in consumption. In wet, very stable like a summer tire max 130 km/h. No aquaplaning or signs of loosing the traction. In winter if i catch snow in the parking lot no abs activated in braking. no esp activated. In dry on dusty/sandy roads i dont know what could be wrong. never had abs or esp activated. So these tires are very good in my opnion. Made in Japan.

Not sure why others are giving these tyres a great wet score.

THESE ARE THE WORST PERFORMING TYRES IN THE WET I’VE EVER HAD!

THEY ARE DANGEROUS.

The tyres will likely last well as they are hard squealers in the dry with no wet grip at all. Even with ABS these struggle to stop the car in the wet.

I will never buy Hankook again!

Driving on mostly country roads for 6000 average miles
Usually I buy midrange tyres, but this time I didn't want to spend too much on an old car. Also wanted to see if I can tell the difference between budget and more expensive tyres. So it turns out yes I do - while handling is quite good and predictable, there is a noticably longer cold wet braking distance. Snow and dry is ok.

The tires are comfortable but a bit soft.Road noise seems a bit quite than CC6. The grip is awesome in dry and also wet,except cornering at wet tarmac.At 50 - 60% tread remaining, I'm start feeling this tire a bit sliding during wet road surface Treadwear at 380,it last for 25K miles(3 years) until it reach the replace mark.A solid tires performance at it's price range.For me,PS3 a bit better than UC6
