2023 ADAC 16 Inch Tyre Test - 14th of 16 tyres

  • Overall - The UNIROYAL WinterExpert provides inadequate steering feedback and precision on dry roads, requiring frequent corrections. The vehicle tends to oversteer in dynamic maneuvers but earns a barely satisfactory rating in limit behavior. Its braking distance is below average but still rated as good. On wet roads, it narrowly misses a good rating, performing satisfactorily in braking and handling due to imprecise steering. It excels only in aquaplaning tests. On winter roads, it earns a nearly good rating for its snow braking and handling but falls short in snow traction and ice braking. Environmentally, the tyre achieves a satisfactory rating, with both its projected lifespan and wear rated as satisfactory. Despite good ratings in weight and fuel efficiency, the overall environmental performance is only satisfactory.

I have driven this tyres for short period of time now, but i am impressed because tyres are quite direct and responsive in dry and wet road. Negative is that they are quite noisy but nothing drastic. Summer tyres on car are michelin pilot sport 4 in 225 40 18, the car is hyundai i30 n line 2021

Given 89% while driving a Opel Astra H GTC (205/55 R16) on a combination of roads for 2,000 average miles
Since this is new model of Uniroyal winter tyres at first I was skeptical since there was no tyre reviews about them on the internet, but at the end I have decided to give them a chance and I'm quite satisfied with them. They have great grip and they behave great on dry, wet and snow, I didn't have a chance to test them on ice. Can't say much about wear since I drove them for about 2000miles so time will show.

Given 77% while driving a Renault clio iv 1.5 DCI 90ps (185/65 R15) on a combination of roads for 300 spirited miles
New type of Uniroyal Tyre, after driving with them for a few hundred KM: -Noisy at the start, but already getting better. They might need some time to settle/wear. Of course winter tyres are always noisier. -Good grip dry and wet. Haven't seen any snow yet. -Handling: Hard to say. 185/65/15 will always be a tyre with a more flexible sidewall. 18" in summer. So far the tires were fine cornering even at higher speeds and they feel predictable, have not experienced any loss of grip yet.
