Bridgestone Battlax Sport Touring T32

T32 180/55 rear (not GT). On an Aprilia Shiver 750. 36psi cold. Rear tyre, when pushed, will slide. Previous T31 had bags of grip, and bought the T32 for wet weather improvements, assuming similar dry grip properties. In the wet, they are good, no better than the T31s, but in the dry, when I like to push on a bit, I've found I can slide the rear, on the lean. First time it happened was a bit of shock. No changes to riding style, same roads, clean and dry. After the second slide a few miles on I stopped to check it wasn't fluid or something else, it wasn't. The tyre felt mildly warm when I was expecting some heat. I have TPS on my wheels and have noted that PSI increase due to ride/heat increase is slow, much slower than I'm used to, in fact running pressure is a few PSI down on the T31. This tells me the tyre is stiff, which explains the slide and the slow increase in heat/pressure. Would I buy the T32 again....NO. I'll go back to the T31 which is much much better. If you tour and are gentle on the throttle, and don't hoon about, you'll be ok with this tyre, but for me I expect a good balance between consistent grip and life, and sadly the T32 is lacking in grip when pushed hard on lean.

I'm currently on my second pair of T32GT tires on my R1200RT. The handling improvement over the previous very heavy/slow steering Michelin PR4GT tires was immediately noticeable when rolling out of my driveway withe the first pair of T32GTs, and the tires continue excel in all conditions whether dry or wet, cold or hot. The T32GT wear is very disappointing to me though; less than 7,000 miles to the rear tire wear bars on the first set and the second set won't make it that far. I routinely got over 10k miles from a variety of different tires on previous > 1,000cc sport touring and adventure touring bikes, riding all in the same type conditions (mostly solo and no luggage) and in the same region of the US, and I expected many more miles out of modern premium tires.

my first was with a kawasaki ninja 250r, used over 4000kms. After my stock tyres, T32 shown me how much a quality tyre could change your riding experience. The bike was like on another level, also my riding experience. the stability & handling was so encouraging . Wet and dry performances were both fine.
After around 4k kms, have felt some lose on its performance, but was not a deal breaker.
So i bought T32 again for my Ktm 990, replacing my worn continental tyres on which i had wobbly turns, even could not leave the handlebars because of wobble. In my first ride today it was first thing i have take in account because was already feeling stable .. As i tried to leave my hands, the bike had this perfect stability .. there were no wobble left .
yes, i m admired of this tyres . since it was my first ride w the new tyres, didn't yet push it so much but i have been on a curvy road.. and never felt me insecure .

I have about 3500k miles on the tire and they probably have less than 1000 miles left on them. I've run only 42 psi in the rear the whole life of the tire so I'm surprised a little about that. I do ride the highways pretty fast, do a lot of clutch-up wheelies, and curvy road riding. Even with the mileage, I'd get these tires again if the price was right.

Replacing a set of T31s on my VFR800F the T32 has proved even better especially providing real confidence during biblical rain last weekend when conditions were so bad they pretty much cancelled the Formula One Grand Prix race being held just down the road in Spa. A spirited blast on the unrestricted German autobahn confirmed they were superbly stable at serious speed despite the bike carrying full luggage. If you want a race focused tyre look elsewhere but if touring is more your bag the T32s look like they will at least match the 12,000miles I got from my T31s.
