Best Tyres for the Honda CRX Del Sol

These tyres are at the end of their production so Bridgestone will be clearing off the last of their stock. Got these tyres on my second car 7 years ago. Can't say that I was particularly experienced but these tyres are what I learned to drive quick on. Dry handling is good, not quite on par with modern Sporty tyres but still better than passenger tyres. I still had to really abuse them before they lost grip though. When they did break away they gave plenty of warning and were quite Manageable at the limit. The limits may have become a little lower as they aged or I may have just gotten quicker. They are definitely a bit softer in the sidewalls and actually paired well with the firm suspension of the Del Sol and the Integra Type R I had later. Both of these cars were on the harsh side but I believe the tyres still rode relatively comfortably. Can't comment on noise as both had minimal sound deadening. Wet handling was good enough for me. Never pushed extremely hard but the tyres were communicative enough to give me the confidence to drive swiftly. I had these on for about 45,000kms before I sold the car and still estimate at least an extra 10,000kms of wear life. They did wear on the inside first but that may be due to lowered suspension. A decent tyre if stepping up from a passenger tyre. Would probably give it a miss if you are wanting a true performance tyre. Main competition is from RE003 which I've also driven lots on. RE003 has higher limits has well as more feedback and steering response. It also wears faster and is much less comfortable. Would recommend My02 if its discounted and quite a bit cheaper than RE003. Make sure you check dates on these tyres on clearance to check they're still fresh

I used this tire on my crx del sol , its fwd and has 160hp , for a car that has to accelerate and steer with the front tires these nexen's did and do a perfect job , it always lets you know when they want to lose grip and when they do .. it happens so slow you have plenty of time to counter steer or catch the back ... its comfortable quiet and excellent in the rain , for a light sports car they do very well in the rain ,aquaplaning is not a problem . A great tire all round , low price and best performance .. better even then some top brand tires ..

Put these on a Honda del Sol because I needed a mileage tire and 15K miles since, they are working fine. I can't comment on snow living in Texas, but everything else they handle admirably. I've always used lower end high performance tires in the past, and the Cooper CS4 doesn't have the grip of those tires in the dry. But dry grip is still very good and they're very progressive at the limit with excellent feedback without being harsh. In the wet they are fantastic, 85 mph in Texas downpour without a hint of hydroplaning, very impressive in my opinion. They show very little wear at 15K miles; the past high performance tires I've used would been more than 1/2 way gone at 15K. They are the quietest tire I've ever had on this car, but the del Sol is a noisy car independent of the tire used so one would hear any tire. On anything other than well worn cement, there is no whine; very quiet on asphalt. They run very cool; I typically cruise at 85 mph for more than an hour straight in 95 degree Fahrenheit, and I can immediately leave my hand on the drive tires for more than 3 seconds (the old 'thumb test' for transistors :) . They've maintained their balance (with very little weight); I'd definitely recommend and buy again.

It is cheap, but therefore dangerous, from 88kmh with my honda del sol, I can stop in 50-52 meter(measured, dry), but with a better(not premium) tyre the distande is only 36 meter(measured)
Buy some good tyres, not this one!!!!

Fitted to a Honda CRX (Del Sol) for non-competition use. Very good value for the price but questionable in adverse conditions. Experienced serious,incipient aquaplaning in heavy rain and road run-off. This may be partly attributable to the car's light weight. Would try for a more advanced tyre next time.

Superb Tyre for extreme driving. But wears out quickly. after 7000km the front tyres are less then half tyre left. rear is ok.

after giving the tyres a good 200 miles i found the grip to be super to be fair. The wet roads were near as good grip as the dry. I noticed not much difference in fuel use. The steering was smooth to. All in i would buy again
