Fitment comes from each tyre's manufactured size list, and the sizes are the ones drivers reported when they reviewed. Check the size, load index and speed rating on your own doorplate before buying - a size a previous owner ran is not always the size your car left the factory on.

So I initially got these tyres for a 2nd gen Lexus IS - rolled with them around slowly at the start, then after 1 or 2 months of daily driving i decided to see how it would fair in the curves. I have the XL variant and i can say they're TOUGH. Thrashed on them quite a bit with minimal wear totalling around 30 000 kms, after the which that car died and i put the rims on a 2014 VW polo and oh boy they are amazing for hot hatches, be it hairpin turns, mountain roads or urban driving. Will definitely buy again.

These came on my Lexus IS220d when bought used and i was sceptical as i don't buy tyres ever However they were brand new and i thought i'd see how i got on with them I have to say i have no real complaints, the dry grip, handling and wear are good. I have had traction control in the wet when you use heavy throttle even in a straight line but if you are smooth then no issue I use the car on the motorway and its rock steady with a little tyre noise, but i think this would be much worse if it wasnt a Lexus ie quiet Overall surprised, likely would but something better when they needed it but have to be considered on this performance

Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance 225-45-17-W Lexus IS220D 10,000 miles May 7, 2015
Very disappointed in these tyres (on the Front of Lexus IS220D), lasted less than 10,000 miles compared to previous tyres (Conti Sport 5s) which lasted over 25,000 miles...definitely softer ride but poor feedback/grip compared to the Conti's too! Just had two new conti's fitted for £94 each which I consider very good value.

Bought two after one punctured Continental Sport Contact 5 front tyres on my Lexus IS220D...Conti's had 4mm remaining after 20,000 miles, Goodyears just replaced after 10,000 as both down to 3mm...Definately more comfortable than Conti's but very poor wear! Can't understand the reviews showing good wear compared to Conti's, care driven carefully not pushed.

Where to begin...
The noise from these tyres sounded (as other people have said) like a wheel baring on its way out. Driving with these tyres in the wet in just plain dangerous; on a rear wheel drive Lexus, the back end went on nearly every roundabout.
The only positive thing I can say about these tyres is that they took a while to wear out, it was only when they did that I realised how truly awful these tyres were, so even the fact that they wear well isn't necessarily good...
If you value your life, avoid these cheap, badly made, dangerous tyres...

Factory fitted on my Lexus IS220, 35000 miles and now lookin at little worn on inside and outside of front tyres and due for renewal. Similar tyres on back, different size good for another 10000. What you guys doing on to get less than 10000?

Near silent, very comfortable with excellent wet grip. Slight going over at high speed bends on the dry but only slight. Alway feel safe and enjoy the quite drive especially on roads with awful quality like in the UK.

Bought the car with almost new maxxis fitted, i,m not a boy racer so they suit me fine, never felt twitchy or worried about grip. Iv'e done 37k miles on them with 2.4mm still left on the front & 1.8mm on the back so cant grumble. My only gripe is they are a bit noisy but overall can't grumble.

After coming from some rather awful "Wanli" tyres on the back of my Lexus 220D, all I can say is that these tyres are a god-send and in a totally different class...

Billed as mid-range, and priced as such, these tyres are fantastic in the wet, are very quiet and give great feedback from the road. The dry grip is also good, as I have to pull out every morning on to a blind bend of an A road and these tyres don't skid, squeal or spin; even with the traction control off.

I can't say much about the wear just yet, as I only done a few thousand miles on them, but felt I had to write a glowing review based on the contrast between these tyres and the budget Wanli tyres.

They've made a huge difference to my driving confidence in the wet; taking the many roundabouts on the way to work in the wet and driving on wet motorways is much less daunting with these tyres on the back of a rear wheel drive Lexus.

Before these tyres, losing the back end round a roundabout in the wet was routine (thank the stars for Traction Control!), but I've purposefully tried (within reason) to lose grip in the wet round a tight roundabout with these tyres and so far I've not been able to.

All-in-all, great tyres, good value, well engineered and British to boot!!

About the TR Score

The Tyre Reviews Score rates each tyre out of 10 using independent test results and the full body of owner reviews, so you can check a car-specific ranking against the wider evidence.

Who does the testing

Every test published as a Tyre Reviews test is run by Jonathan Benson, who has been testing tyres independently since 2007.
