Best Tyres for the Mitsubishi Eclipse

Fiitted Gt plus and got excited with the dry and wet grip, comfort, low noise, accurate steering and economy. Excellent driving in the wet, best tyre I had ever had. Had replaced the Goodyears Efficient grip 2 SUV, which were a bit better in the steering in highways but less grip everywear else. Need to mention GT plus are made of double layer of polyamide on the tread, instead of one layer in Goodyears, and I think this makes GT better. GT plus is A rated in wet, and can drive on sand, therefore I beleive it is not a classic summer tyre but an excellent H/T highway terrain tyre. Also uses the Continental tech. Therefore highly reccomented for SUVs.

purchased two avon 225/55R18 98v zx7 on 17/09/2025 with 8mm tread.Drove 769 miles, I have written paper work that the tread was down to 5mm. I dont think this is normal.

I bought tyre for Mitsubishi two days ago. We used only 50 km in City. I feel dry grip is good. I can say this tyre is silince. On bumpy roads it is smooth. We loved this tyres. I will write as I have more experience.

Our SUV Eclipse Cross 2.2 8-autom 4x4 came with Yokohama summer tires, so it was obvious that the Geolander 225/55/R18 would be a good fit for the car, the included 2nd set of aluminum rims was fitted with Yokohama Geolanders. The vehicle is great to drive with them, the 4x4 provides drive, always. Safe driving in snow and mud, dry and wet too. But of course you should drive according to the weather conditions, because even a Geolander is no panacea! It has been in use in autumn/winter/spring for 5 years now and does a good job, never let us down! Air has not been an issue all these years, checked when changing and done! The tread is now slowly running out, it is clear that the Crossi will get Yokohamas again, and my next car will probably too. An A+ from me! Robust, holds up, drives well with a total permissible weight of 2.3t and a towing capacity of 2t - a good choice!
I recommend the tire.

A good choice for snow or slush. Can still get up the mountain in the most adverse road conditions.

They came as standard on my Eclipse Cross Mitsubishi SUV.I can say that they are very comfortable with minimum rolling resistance and noise.They perform pretty well on dry road as far as braking and handling is concerned.On wet road....I drive with a tight stomach!The feedback is almost scary,I wouldn't recommend them to drivers living in wet climate!I think that I would buy Nexens again because I consider them as vfm but certainly not this model!

Bought the SUV brand new with these tyres factory installed, that lasted for 3 years and 50k km. Still had 4 mm of thread but handling performance was not safe neither acceptable anymore. Average dry and wet grip that was progressively decreasing each year and with temperatures rising above 20 degrees Celsius. Prone to massive understeer! All the stability systems and active controls were not able to bring it under some control. Good road feedback with average comfort. Fuel consumption was horrible. I was getting a lot of aquaplaning at 4 mm thread, while this was not the case when tyres were new. In general, average tyre that I will never consider buying.

Drove Yokohama BluEarth for 50k km before replacing it with the Bridgestone Turanza T005. It was the only premium tyre available in the tyre shop, so I had no other choice. First impressions after 1k km: Positives: - Excellent dry and wet grip. The Yokohama was prone to massive understeer, so much that all the stability systems were not capable to bring it under some control, while the Bridgestone comes very precise in handling. It might oversteer a bit, but that's easy to sort out. - Excellent comfort. It's like I bought I new SUV. It feels like 30% improvement. My wife enjoys it a lot. - Superb fuel efficiency! The car runs so easy. In terms of figures I am burning 10% to 15% less fuel compared with the Yokohama. That is massive! - Pretty affordable for premium tyre at 130 EUR/tyre. Negatives: - Because of the high comfort the ride feels loose with minimum road feedback. That makes me feel insecure in some occasions. - Noise level feels a bit increased. In general, an excellent all round touring tyre. I am still to get used with the poor road feedback.

Recently got these on and thought I would try these on the rear instead of my Vredestein Ultrac Sessantas, reviews seemed promising and thought why the hell not!

the car is setup for track and I love AD08R tires and these were ment to be as good for a lower cost! I have had these on for a few hundred miles on the road first to see how they do and to wear them in abit,

dry grip is good but not brilliant, I find it lacks something and jitters around alot and is not quite planted!

wet grip!!! well today showed me how bad they are in the wet!!! i nearly lost the cars back end because the tires felt like it was on ice! NEVER have i had this before EVER!!!!!!!! they are ok in a straight line in the wet but any corners it hates it! i was going just 55 MPG on an off ramp off the Motorway and it was not fun and I had to swerve acros the 2nd land and not hit the barrier! luckly I was able to regain control or it could have been very bad for my car!

for this reason if you want these tires BUY THEM FOR DRY USE ONLY!!!! I would hate to know how they are in the colder months even on track!

back to the Vredesteins I go as they are very good and even handle track events very well

I bought these tyres 2 months ago. I drive very aggressive because I live in L.A.. these tyres have handled everything I've had to throw at them. So far this winter in L.A. it's been raining on a weekly basis. These tyres haven't hydroplane at all. They are also some of the most comfortable tyres I've owned. That surprised me because the design does not look like they're made for comfort. They have a aggressive look to them. Also they are pretty quite. I would say these are about as good as the Continentals I had on the car before these. Except these are slot more affordable.
