Best Tyres for the Volkswagen Passat B7

This tire is definitely a good choice for average users, unfortunately, based on my experience and usage, the tire did not perform well. It provides adequate lateral grip on both wet and dry roads, but it spins easily when accelerating and I do not feel confident when braking either. Probably due to the way it was used or a manufacturing defect, the tire started to wear out after the first season. This was the second season I've run it, and I feel like it's time for a change. The tread is now very badly damaged and I don't feel safe. 26.000 km / 16.000 miles

Confidence inspiring tyre. I chose this tire for its exceptional wet handling. Nowadays we didn't see a lot of snow in the winter however (because of high yearly mileage) I didn't want to buy an all season tyre just yet. I made an excellent choice in my opinion for these type of conditions.

Not good in rainy conditions, adequate in normal conditions, a little louder than I am used to. No issues with wear after 15k km. Good for normal everyday driving, nothing else

This February I felt the need to replace my old summer tires, they were some semi-decent noname tires that I came with the car when I bought it but, I thought I should treat her with the tyres she deserves. I bought this tyres about a month ago and have probably driven around 1000km. In this period, although short and insufficient to make a statement, I found the Pirelli Cinturato P7 C2s to be some extremely good tyres. I must admit, I haven't really had the chance to drive around in premium tyres but these simply feel different, they are phenomenal in all conditions, the dry performance and braking are amazing, the wet performance and braking are also wonderful and to top it all off, the comfort and rolling resistance are incredible ( I have a relatively heavy car and still managed a meer 4.8l/100km with them; also, when driven in a more spirited way for about 120km I got somewhere around 5.6 average consumption...all this was extraurban driving of course, urban wise, they sit at around 6.5 in my case, which is still very impressive). Wear wise it's simply too soon to tell how they are doing but I m hoping around 40-45k km out of them, should they offer more, I'm going to be very impressed.
In conclusion, I genuinely recomand this tyres so far and shall I encounter any problems, I will come back with another comment.

Bare in mind before you read this review, I had these tires on a 170 HP VW, so I might not have the most fair review... but man these tires rock. I can never break traction in the dry, and almost never do in the wet. Only complaint is they don't last at all.

I'm pretty disappointed in the end mainly because the tires only lasted 27.000 km all in all, but the performance drop was huge after say 20.000 km. The tires have very little grip both in the dry and the wet, the wheels spin easily even in 2nd gear, even in the dry and we are talking about a 1.5 ton 140 bhp car. I don't use the car much in the winter, but last winter convinced me, that it's time for new tires, the car was all over the place, it didn't feel safe anymore. I found them pretty noisy as well, but the handling was very good. I will replace them with the new Michelin Cross climate 2, let's see how they'll perform.
