Methodology & Configuration
Scoring Process
  1. Collect Test Data: Gather results from professional tyre tests across multiple publications. Minimum 1 test(s) required.
  2. Normalize Positions: Convert test positions to percentile scores using exponential weighting (factor: 1.2).
  3. Apply Recency Weighting: More recent tests are weighted higher with a decay rate of 0.95.
  4. Incorporate User Reviews: Factor in user review data (minimum 5 reviews). Weight: 15%.
  5. Bayesian Smoothing: Apply Bayesian prior (score: 7, weight: 1.5) to prevent extreme scores with limited data.
  6. Calculate Final Score: Combine all components using normalization factor of 1.1. Max score with limited data: 9.5.

Top 3 Maxtrek TREK M900 Reviews

Given 73% while driving a Mercedes Benz GL 350 CDI (295/40 R21) on a combination of roads for 3,107 average miles
Installed on GL 350 , rugged looking tire , first time using this brand.

If the manufacturer improvise the road noise conditions on dry highway surfaces at both low and high speeds not exceeding 120km.

This tire would be a great selling point , cabin noise decibels are through the roof.

Especially for a MB GL 350 fitted with air ride suspension, it feels like we’re constantly driving through a construction zone.

Gonna sell these and buy something closer to Hankook, Continental, etc

Got them installed brand new , we drove a combined 40 + hrs and 3106.856 miles.

It’s noisy and appalling, sounds like my bearings are all bad, which is definitely not the situation.

Got me second guessing myself.

Not very good.

Given 70% while driving a Peugeot 308 (205/55 R16 T) on a combination of roads for 150 average miles
Bought tires January 2021. Drives mostly in mid and northern Sweden. My tires has rivets and has a good grip on hard snow and ice. Run in of tires is necessary plugging rivets firmly. Noise is humming at all speeds as expected. Winter roads not covered by ice or snow requires traditional winter driving style. Driving on snow is easier than ice and could be done forced with a relaxed driving style, more similar to warm weather driving on summer tires. In short these tires behave better than non-riveted winter tires. This far I've only driven these tires at temperatures below -7⁰C.

Given 64% while driving a (270/65 R18) on mostly town for 500 average miles
Installed on a f350 truck get great grip in snow not so good on ice but much better than the full summer tires I had on. Good from the price

Given 33% while driving a Toyota Echo (175/65 R14) on mostly town for 6,000 average miles
Absolutely abysmal tire. Noisy, poor traction(snow or dry), poor road feel(especially when the temperature is a bit warmer). The vehicle wanders all over the road. Please spend a couple extra dollars and buy a more reputable tire if you have to drive in severe winter climates. I won't make this mistake again.

Given 89% while driving a Dodge Caravan (225/65 R16) on a combination of roads for 10,000 average miles
Second year with those m900 ice (no studs on), I had yokohama IG52 before and I can't realy tell there's a difference. The only difference is more money in my pocket.
