Latest Tyre Test Results

2023 ADAC 17 inch Winter Tyre Test - 6th of 15 tyres

  • Positive - Still safe properties on dry roads, still good performance on wet roads, very high predicted mileage, low abrasion.
  • Negative - Slight weaknesses in precision on dry roads, slight weaknesses in wet handling, slight weaknesses on wintry roads.
  • Overall - The SEMPERIT SPEED-GRIP 5 tyre shows minor weaknesses in steering precision on dry roads but maintains good safety reserves and an average braking distance, earning it a good rating for dry conditions. On wet roads, it also secures a good rating for braking and aquaplaning but falls short in handling due to early tendencies to understeer. Its performance on winter roads is less than ideal, missing a good rating due to shortcomings in ice braking, snow traction, and handling. The tyre tends to understeer or oversteer early, affecting precise control. Environmentally, the tyre receives a good rating; its predicted mileage is very good and wear is also rated as good. Although it narrowly misses a good rating for weight, its low fuel consumption secures it a good efficiency rating.

2022/23 Tyre Reviews Winter Tyre Test - 5th of 9 tyres

  • Positive - Excellent in the dry with fast handing and short braking distances, very good aquaplaning resistance, very low rolling resistance.
  • Negative - Low grip in wet handling and braking, limited grip in the snow.
  • Overall - The Semperit Speed Grip 5 in fifth was essentially exactly as good as the Vredestein in the dry, not as good in the wet grip tests but much better in the aquaplaning tests, a little better in the snow but it did have one of the best rolling resistances on test. I'd like to see some more wet performance from this tyre to push it further towards the best of the group.

I had used ug8 before this tyre and semperit is better than goodyear. I have been using all type of condition on winter and warm weathers, handling is always very good. Price of tyre is very good. I strongly recommend this tyre for everyone.
