Performance Analysis
Drawn from 6 tests. Updated October 29, 2026.
The Radar Dimax Alpine is more competitive in snow braking than wet braking across its six tests. It led snow braking in the 2024 Auto Bild braking test and placed tenth of 31 in 2023 and tenth of 35 in 2021. Wet braking was less convincing, from 22nd of 54 in 2023 to 41st of 49 in 2020, and was tenth of eleven in the 2024 Auto Bild Sportscars full test. That full test also put wet handling tenth of eleven, straight aquaplaning last and curved aquaplaning tenth. The testers criticised wet-road safety and very high rolling resistance, which was last of eleven at 9.92 kg/t.
The same 2024 Sportscars test showed clear merits elsewhere: second of ten in snow handling, third of eleven in snow braking and the lowest noise at 69.7 dB. Testers praised winter performance, dry braking and the price, although the measured dry-braking result was only seventh of eleven, so it was not a leading result. Snow traction was also less competitive than snow braking and handling, at ninth of eleven. Ninth of ten overall in that full test reflects the substantial wet-road and efficiency weaknesses despite the snow and noise results.
