Methodology & Configuration
Scoring Process
  1. Collect Test Data: Gather results from professional tyre tests across multiple publications. Minimum 1 test(s) required.
  2. Normalize Positions: Convert test positions to percentile scores using exponential weighting (factor: 1.2).
  3. Apply Recency Weighting: More recent tests are weighted higher with a decay rate of 0.95.
  4. Incorporate User Reviews: Factor in user review data (minimum 5 reviews). Weight: 15%.
  5. Bayesian Smoothing: Apply Bayesian prior (score: 7, weight: 1.5) to prevent extreme scores with limited data.
  6. Calculate Final Score: Combine all components using normalization factor of 1.1. Max score with limited data: 9.5.

Given 38% while driving a Ford 2001 Ford excursion 7.3 diesel (315/75 R16) on mostly country roads for 3,000 easy going miles
For a mud terrain tyre this is great. Good wear, great offroad and not bad on Road. Low noise in my case because the noisy dieselengine is louder than the tyres. Downsides are roadfeeling/feedback and rhat the tyres are heavy because of stiff sidewalls. Great for offroad, but the comfort really suffers. Not bad tyre in itself, but its more my preferances and use make me want to buy bfgoodrich ko2 in 285/75r16 next time.

Given 79% while driving a Jeep wrangler jk (255/75 R17) on mostly country roads for 7 average miles
Northern Ontario, Canada. Two lane highways, bush roads, lots of trails, and made a couple new trails. 2014 Jeep Wrangker 2 door. All stock. Just ran these for a season April - November. Mix of road and trail. They did very well in mixed off road, sharp rock, gravel, mud, rust, smooth rock, wet/dry, bush roads. No issues. Clawed their way through everything. No cuts, no punctures, no issues. On road, not bad either. I didn’t experience an hydroplaning on highway (55mph/90kmh). Wearing very well, light feathering. 12,000 kilometres / 7,500 miles. Rotated once at 7,500 Km’s. 5 tires rotation. Swapping out to winter tires now. Wouldn’t use them for winter. Snow maybe, but not cold temps or ice. Less noise on pavement than I expected, that is subjective, but I expected worse from these. All in all, I would buy these again and recommend them.

Given 74% while driving a Land Rover Range Rover Classic (225/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 3,000 easy going miles
Very tough tires. I have been extremely happy with them over the 3000 miles I have put on them. I have ONE big issue though, they suck in the sand. Doesn't matter how low you go with pressure, they just dig and dig and dig into the sand. It is for this reason that I have to find another tire. Great otherwise on rocks in Moab, washboard in Death Valley and dirt and mud elsewhere. Drove all the way to Moab from Los Angeles in the a thunderstorm for several hours and now issues at all. Always felt stable. And this is in a 1993 Range Rover.

Given 81% while driving a Jeep commander (265/70 R17 Q) on a combination of roads for 8,000 average miles
great all rounder built strong for off road /mud/ rock these tyres just don't want to get stuck . on the road there is a little noise but you soon get used to it , be aware the road holding will not match all terrains because of the large block tread pattern so on wet roads these will not grip aswell . as for wear my tyres have covered about 8000 miles and are still like new I used to use wrangler at's tyres and find the wear and ride quality is no worse with the stt pro's , in my opinion these tyre are a great all rounder hard wearing and can be found for very reasonable price you cant go far wrong ,
