Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 Reviews - Page 29

Given 94% while driving a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X (245/40 R18 W) on a combination of roads for 6,000 spirited miles
This is an update of an earlier review I submitted, I have now had these tyres for over 8 months (6000 + miles) with a road trip to the Nurburgring, completing 4 on the edge laps plus the 1200 mile round trip there and back and I can say that these tyres preformed excellently, above and beyond expectations, there has been very little wear since last review and even on the absolute limits I was amazed how much grip and feedback was received. Also very good in the wet. Will be buying again, keep it up Goodyear!

Given 100% while driving a Audi TT (225/40 R18 W) on a combination of roads for 1,000 average miles
Amazing tire, the best ever driven so far,the wet grip is outstanding, its like driving on dry road, the dry grip is perfect,am very surpized so far,its so quite and makes the driving so accurate and gives the feeling of trust to high speeds, turning, the braking is like stucking on the road.................no words can describe the feeling of driving with these tires, very happy.

Check out how the BEST all seasons tyres perform against premium summer and winter tyres!
Given 69% while driving a SEAT LEON 1.8 20VT 210BHP (225/40 R18 W) on mostly motorways for 1,000 spirited miles
due to the huge difference between my previews tyres(YOKOHAMA PARADA)& these i'm very confident to say that the Goodyear's are not the ideal tyres for cars over 120hp. The feedback & behaviour when changing direction (turning, over passing, changing lane) is terrible, it gives me the impresion that i'm in a boat!!!! Maybe because i'm used to the absolut behaviour of Yocos.

Given 91% while driving a BMW 520d Tourer (245/40 R18 W) on a combination of roads for 500 average miles
Changed to the Asymmetric 2's after a year of suffering the awful ride of the Goodyear run flats supplied as standard with this car. Very impressed so far- the car feels much more comfortable with very similar levels of grip.

Given 100% while driving a Ford Focus ST (225/40 R18 W) on a combination of roads for 1,000 spirited miles
Absolutely stunning tyre. Never have I felt so confident in any car I have owned... Been through all kinds of tyres including Michelins, Contis, Toyos and these Asymmetric 2's are by far the best tyre.

Will be buying more of these without a doubt, won't even look at other tyres... you will not get a better tyre than this!

Given 100% while driving a BMW M3 (225/45 R17 W) on mostly country roads for 0 spirited miles
To the previous reviewer with the Honda Accord, the problem isn't with the tyre the problem is with the car. A high performance tyre is not going to be suited to a low performance car. Waste of money buying these tyres for a Honda Accord.

Given 91% while driving a Honda Accord (225/45 R17 W) on a combination of roads for 200 spirited miles
The tyres are fine and all, soft, grippy I guess, quiet and comfy BUT when I turn hard and quickly on the dry the bend too much, it's like the sidewall is way too soft.
My old Bridgestone Potenza RE070 did not do this and I now feel less confident in my car.
I can't believe that nobody mentioned this so far..

Given 100% while driving a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI GSR (225/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 3,000 spirited miles
Having come from the old F1 Asymmetrics to the newer Asymmetric 2, my Evo VI now rides like a BMW in terms of softness on the rough stuff.
Dry cornering grip has improved over the old Asymmetrics and it's quite noticable in a 400bhp machine.
Road noise is definately improved.
Steering is more direct and lighter and has quite a lot of feedback.
These work beautifully with AYC equipped machines and the braking on my Brembo & Carbotech drilled brakes is extremely good (its was amazing before:), the braking distance has imporoved quite a bit.
All i'll say about wet driving on the Evo VI with the Assy 2's is, it's the same as the dry, maximum grip with no understeer and predictable oversteer (AYC sorts this anyway but x2 with the Assy 2's).
Wear hasn't been an issue at all (3k Kms).
The rolling resistance of these tyres is second to none. Acceleration has improved as has overall ride at higher speeds. Also using less fuel due to the lower rolling resistance.
Can these babies get any better
Highly, Highly recommended, especially if you have an Evo.

Given 90% while driving a Volkswagen GTI MK5 (200) (225/40 R18) on a combination of roads for 2,000 spirited miles
Having driven a number of leading high performance tyres(Pirelli P Zero Dunlop Sport Maxx,Goodyear Eagle F1 asymmetric,Continental Sport Contact3),I was very pleased with all aspects of this new offering from Goodyear. The handling in both wet and dry was especially pleasing considering my driving style and 200 horses to the front wheels.Compared against the Conti 3s they replaced, the difference is night and day ,with upmost confidence in cornering especially worth mentioning.Would I recommend?,most definately, would I buy again?...yes.

Given 100% while driving a Mercedes Benz E320 CDI Sport (265/35 R18 W) on mostly motorways for 1,000 average miles
245/40/18 front. 265/35/18 rear.

Replaced Goodyear F1 Asymmetrics - which were excellent in every respect.

First impressions: 1) less noise - especially on rough stuff and concrete 2) more compliance - especially at low speed. Car feels as though it has additional springs fitted 3) No understeer at all. Grip is fantastic.

Brilliant tyres. Highly recommended.
