Methodology & Configuration
Scoring Process
  1. Collect Test Data: Gather results from professional tyre tests across multiple publications. Minimum 1 test(s) required.
  2. Normalize Positions: Convert test positions to percentile scores using exponential weighting (factor: 1.2).
  3. Apply Recency Weighting: More recent tests are weighted higher with a decay rate of 0.95.
  4. Incorporate User Reviews: Factor in user review data (minimum 5 reviews). Weight: 15%.
  5. Bayesian Smoothing: Apply Bayesian prior (score: 7, weight: 1.5) to prevent extreme scores with limited data.
  6. Calculate Final Score: Combine all components using normalization factor of 1.1. Max score with limited data: 9.5.

Reliable Tyre for Mixed Conditions – Solid Performer for Fleet Use

We've been using the Toyo A23 across a small fleet operating in both urban and rural environments. One of the standout features is its quiet and comfortable ride even at higher motorway speeds. Dry grip is solid and cornering stability is acceptable for a mid-range compound. Wet performance is decent, though not quite at premium-tier levels — but for its price, it delivers great value.https://tyrevortex.com/mobile-coach-tyre-services/

What makes it particularly suitable for long-term use is the tread longevity. We’ve clocked around 30,000 miles on some units with even wear, which is excellent for the weight they carry.

For anyone managing a transport business, I’d strongly recommend looking into Fleet Tyre Maintenance for Coaches to maximise tyre lifespan and ensure road safety — especially when combining it with reliable mid-range options like the Toyo A23.

Would I buy again? Definitely — especially for non-performance fleets and general use cases.

Given 37% while driving a Mazda (225/45 R17) on mostly town for 30,000 average miles
They are a cheap OEM tire, I think they're probably fine off the lot, but I bought this car used from the dealership and have only experienced them after 25,000 miles of ware. I will say they are lasting me slightly over the recommended 30k, so that is a plus. For the cost of these tires, the performance does not justify the lack of longevity.

The dealership sold me these tires since the first batch wore out. I have 55,000 miles on my car and have had to replace these twice now and they arent cheap. Got only 25,000 miles out of this last time. Too bad the dealership wont stand behind these awful tires. Spend a little more and get some good quality. Had I known I would have never bought these. Buyer be aware!!!

Good wear, fine on the Highway and dry conditions. Pretty ordinary in the wet though.

Brilliant tyres. No wear showing after 18,000 miles. I do not thrash it around. It is a big 4x4 Shogun Sport 2021 , and I drive accordingly on roads. Tyres very good off road. Never got stuck yet, and been in some very muddy tracks

Given 49% while driving a Mazda cx5 (/45 R17) on mostly town for 30,000 average miles
The ride quality is ok, apart from the noise. Lots of road noise. But I cannot believe how quickly these wear. We live in Alaska so for at least 6 months a year we run on winter tires. The car has just turned 50,000 miles in total, but these tire were only on the car half the time and yet they now need replacing. So at most I'd guess we got 30000 miles from these Toyo tires. That's terrible. Now upgraded to Michelins for not much more money.

Given 40% while driving a Mitsubishi shogun sport (265/60 R18) on a combination of roads for 700 miles
I have just taken delivery of a new shogun sport4 fitted with TOYO A23 Open Country tyres and I’ve just experienced the most terrifying 350 mile trip in mostly wet conditions! These tyres are absolutely treacherous. On just about every wet round about the vehicle slipped. I honestly had to treat each one as if there was sheet ice on it. I’m definitely getting them changed and not at my expense that’s for sure!

Impressive wear for an OEM CUV tire. I replaced the original tires with the exact same tire.
