Fiat 1.2 16V Tyre Review Highlights
Writing about the GT Radial ClimateActive given 83% (215-55-18)
I fitted this tyre on a new Fiat 600 hybrid, straight at car delivery, replacing the OE summer Goodyear's. I therefore have no benchmark compared to the summer OE's.
Fitted in early December, i had the chance to drive them on dry, wet and also some snow due to latest weather conditions.
the tyre was superb in all levels of grip. it is also very quiet and comfortable, despite the 18 inch and (relative) low aspect ratio.
Handling is soft and with delayed response, but i attribute this more to the car overall soft suspensions and chassis settings, rather than the tyre itself.
A very good tyre at a fantastic price point. And apparently the press agrees with me.
Well done GT!

Not a nice experience using these tyres. Grip was adequate, but unfortunately the very loud road noise from these tyres made driving very unpleasant.

An absolutely appalling tyre, usually found as factory fitted. Provides adequate dry grip and handling for a low power economy sub-compact car but wet grip is disastrous with little difference between emergency wet braking and braking on snow. Not the quietest tyre either. Avoid.

Driving on mostly town for 10000 easy going miles
I bought a second car for errands and they were fitted already on it. They were almost brand new so I didn't change them immediately. In the first few months they were average although wet grip was bad. After a year or so they began to lose traction on wet roads with only 10-20 km/h. I finally changed them after I crashed on the highway during an emergency stop as they couldn't stop the car on time and made me crash on the car in front of me. After putting the new tyres on and fixing the damages I realized how uncomfortable, noisy and bumpy they were. The car now feels silky smooth compared to before. The only positive thing with them is that they didn't seem to wear at all. Definitely stay away. Good tyres are cheaper than fixing damages from a crash.

Driving on mostly motorways for 1000 easy going miles
Fitted 6 of these to my A Class Motorhome in place of Michelin Agilis which had started to crack and bulge a 4 1/2 yrs old....Really pleased with the quality of the Nexen's….we compared them with the Michelin's on removal and the stronger construction of the Nexens was immediately apparent... the drive very well..

Driving on mostly country roads for 20000 average miles
Excellent tire for cost price. For drivers who want a little more. 20,000km without damage and wear. It will have a long life. It's comfortable and sporty.

Driving on a combination of roads for 16000 average miles
These tyres worked well in both dry and wet when new. Braking and handling was fine. They were a softer tyre even as XL compared to OEM Conti Premium Contact which lasted 19000 miles. At 16000 miles the Nexens are down to 2.5 mm and are ready for replacement as on a 16" rim the handling and everything else has deteriorated quite rapidly.
