BMW 318d M Sport Touring (E91) Tyre Review Highlights
I can compare these tires to the ones i previously had on the car, the gislaved ultra speed 2 and the pirelli pzero nero GT. The continental has it's weaknesses, namely that it's sidewall is very soft. I daily the car that i have these on and they are great for all round driving, but when i want to throw the car in some corners i can feel that the sidewall starts to flex when going in a corner. It grips insanely well in the corners and in a straight line i can't even get the traction control light to come on. They are very good for daily driving and the ocasional sporty weekend driving. The flex of the sidewall is something that you will get used to, so it is not a deal breaker. In the rain they are insanely good, i drove the car in the rain as fast as i drove it when dry and i felt no difference, very confidence inspiring. Would definitely recommend this tyre to anyone. Wear wise, i found it to be very good. On the Gislaved, i noticed some graining after 2 years of having them and the grip gradually started to drop. The Pirelli were good, but nowhere close to thhe Continental. Out of the 3, the obvious best is the Continental. Also, on the other ones, there was a difference in grip between cold and hot tyre, but on the Conti i couldn't find that difference in grip.

Honestly surprised how great the car hooked to the ground, how stable it was even sliding the car trough snow. 3rd season coming in, 30 000km done on the tires more to go for sure because even the compound is still soft as it was the first day I bought. Saw the ICE 3 came out might upgrade to them.

I felt confident on rougher country roads in wet conditions.
Dry grip was as expected as not really ever on limit of grip.

These tires are the absolute peak of technology. I did not notice any deficiencies. Driving with these tires ensures maximum safety.
I highly recommend these tires!

Absolutely amazing tyres, have them on my car for a winter set, cannot fault them. Occasionally "Tram line" but nothing major. I've covered 10k on them and will buy again.

Amazing tires, last long and sticks like glue even in the rain!

Overall in terms of grip and comfort very good tires for the price, compared to continental sportcontact 5. I have owned matadors before (mp46) and they were really good, so i decided to buy the new model. The sidewalls are maybe a little bit too soft, but the comfort level is high and for me this was important. Mine are produced in romania and after about 4000 kms I am experiencing tire pull, which is the only negative thing I am experiencing to date. Maybe this pull is related to the softer sidewalls. I will see if warranty covers such issues, because i had an alignment and it didn't fix it.

My dealer purchased these Tallon Triangle tyres for my BMW 318D Touring E91. My opinion:
Dry Grip: Not so bad, in the roads of Portugal, with dry weather, the tyres grip ad adhere to the road quite well, especially on curves;
Wet grip: Completely dangerous!!! Even driving at 40 km/h , with some wet road (not full rain) the car slips away very easily. It is dangerous for you and your family.
Wear: Very good. My tyres lasted 50 000 km using normal driving.
I would never recommend buying these tyres again, simply because they are dangerous in wet conditions.

My last review of these tyres was in February 2011, when i put a pair of new tyres on my car. That pair are now needing replaced so another review!
Between February and November I have driven 23000 miles from the Outer Hebridees to South Wales and everywhere inbetween in scortching sun shine and in rain of Biblical proportions. The Bridgestones have offered good grip and a decent amount of feedback on unclassified, B roads, A roads and Motorway / dual cariageways. They dont generate too much noise and ride quality is not too bad. They are a decent all round tyre.
However i have driven a 3 series BMW fitted with 19" runflats and the ride quality was shockingly poor. Could it be that 40/45 profile is the ideal profile for runflat tyres?? Draw you own conclusions!
BUT. . . . They are very sensitive what pressure they are inflated to. 0.1 bar either side of their optimum pressure makes the difference between nice even tyre ware and the shoulders being worn to the canvas whilst the rest of the tyre still has 5mm of tread.
Unfortunatly they are expensive currently £225 each, but there are still too few alternative manufacturers making tyres in the 255/40/17 size so prices are going to remain high!
Summary: A decent all round tyre which doesn't excell in one particular area but crucially its not bad in one particular area either.(225/45/17 & 255/40/17), but has to be inflated to suit your individual circumstances. Buy a good pressure gauge and tread depth gauge, check and adjust your tyre pressures once a week and you'll be fine

The bridgestone runflats fitted to the back of my car (255/40/17) have lasted just over 20000 miles, which isn't too bad considering most of my driving is on twisty A roads and my right foot can be quite heavy.
I found the bridgestones to be generally pretty good in all weathers, they do however lack ultimate grip on wet roads compaired to Uniroyal Rainsport 2 and Goodyear Excellence. They performed better than expected in the snow we had in Central Scotland before Christmas.
Unfortunatly there isn't a great deal of choice in the 255/40/17 size so replacements are very expensive.
