Went with the Nokian LT3 as it's one of the few tires I could get in an 85 aspect ratio. As an unabashed sidewall (and pizza cutter) fan, I'll optimize for that over quite a few other things.
Starting grip (accelerating from a full stop) is ok in 2WD, but I think this is largely because these are load E LT tires. It's worse than the blizzaks I had prior, but those were much lower load tires. Never had an issue with 4X4 engaged.
Lateral grip is excellent. There's occasionally a little initial softness going into a corner with ice or compacted snow, but this is pretty rare, and the tires are very good at letting you know how much grip you have left. Even with a bed rack and rooftop tent, it usually takes some effort to make the backend swing out (again speaking to the good lateral grip.) Even if the backend does swing out, it's a very forgiving tire to recover.
Rock solid in slushy conditions, I change these out for 235/85R16 Falken AT4Ws in the spring so I can't speak as much to the purely wet or dry performance (but I've never had an issue either.)
Been incredibly happy with them, and the only annoyance is that starting grip from a full stop, but I have chains if it ever bothers me too much.

Me again, at 10000 mixed town/offroad miles. Tires have barely felt them, wear is minimal. Tried them on snow - pretty decent for fluffy snow (for an M+S tire), worse on packed snow, but still doing somewhat decently. Definitely not an extreme winter tire. They are also HORRIBLE in the mud. These are NOT mud tires.
For casual off-roading in the summer, or less muddy trails in the spring and winter - very, very good tire, will definitely be recommending them. Very robust also for dense forests and rocky trails, mine have no damage whatsoever after some rough trails.
For muddy trails or cold, snowy climates - not your best choice. They do the job in the snow, but definitely not made for it. In the mud, you're asking to get stuck.
Amazing low wear, I expect them to dry-rot long before they wear out. Then again, my vehicle is only 2 tons.

Bought them second hand for my SsangYong Actyon. Surprisingly trustworthy tyres, I keep expecting them to break grip at some point, but they hold on. Good tread life in summer pavement driving, solid off-road, haven't had them hydroplane in rain yet. Haven't driven them in snow yet. Just ordered 2 more new, surprisingly cheap.

they are on an old discovery only used on the farm on the south downs. the 85s are for the extra ground clearance, remoulds are cheaper on the farm amongst the sharp flints, i get good grip in bad conditions of road. Good compromise between road and rough terrain.

Great overall tire, obviously ATs are not the best at everything but I found this one to do quite good at almost everything. Only when things get extremely muddy they obviously arent that great. They are really good in fresh powdered snow but horrible on ice. I studded them to increase snow/ice performance which worked quite well. They have been wearing really little on my solid axle 1991 G-Wagon. I did absolutely rip one sidewall though. Would i buy them again? Probably not I think the Falken Wildpeak AT is a overall better especially Winter-Performance wise but these generals are way better than the bfg ko2s in the snow and wet, as they have much more siping.

I find GT Radial Adentro A/T 11 and GT Radial Adeventro A/T to be very good tire in Uganda. We have used it on landcrusires for over four years, it gives value for money.

I have has these on a Defender 110 TDCI for twelve months now, driving a mixture of country roads, motorways, field edges (shooting & fishing), plus snow in the alps (skiing). I've also done about 800 miles of towing a two ton sailing boat.
All in all that's a 12,000 varied workout, and I've nothing but praise for these Discoverer AT3 LT tyres. A compliant, quiet ride with decent a steering feel. I've been buying and using all terrain tyres for some 20 years now and these are my favourites. .

Replaced the 15 Yr old budget AT tyres on my 90 with these
3 years ago.
Really disappointed with these Michelins. They are only an improvement in terms of tyre noise (quieter). In all other respects the same as the 15yr old Power guards, apart from body roll, which is sadly increased.
Expected much much more from a premium new tyre.

Got them in 2015 and now 2021 they are needing a change. They are still road legal but the depth is no longer good enough for heavy mud. I have completed just over 30k miles.
It's a farm vehicle that pulls a 3t horse muck tipper trailer into fields every week. It also goes down wet clay farm tracks which only the tractors go on. For 6 months of the year, the field is very wet. By winter, the field is trashed and with the muck pile being pushed around by a tractor, there are a few inches of water and horse wee on top of a few inches of sloppy mud and a lot of rutting from tractors and other vehicles dropping their muck off. It is a mud bath and it's on a hill. For almost 5 years, I have not had any trouble getting in or out of the muck field with the trailer. I have seen other vehicles struggle and get stuck. Some I have helped get out. I mention this as the trailer is a serious drag to pull through the slop yet these tyres didn't let me down. That is until recently. I have had to disconnect the trailer on two occasions. Grip returned without it but had to winch the trailer instead. Most mud tyres start to give up their mud grip after around 50% wear. These got to about 70% wear before I felt I was not getting the same grip. I could probably get another 10k road miles on them but the mud grip is now on par with an AT rather than an MT tyre.
Other characteristics are the tyre is not that good when new. Fine in the mud and on dry road in the wet, for the first 3000 odd miles they lack grip but that does come good later. Indeed, initially, I thought of changing them early. However, it was early spring the weather soon improved and I decided to wait. Come Autumn with a few thousand more miles on them, the wet grip was much improved. I have experienced that with other tyres where a mm or two of wear and the road grip improves. Road noise is typical of mud tyres. They sing quite loudly in the wet but no more than other mud tyres.
Lastly, snow grip. Really fantastic. We use the defender as an emergency support vehicle during snow taking staff to the hospital and carrying things back and forth to those snowed in. It didn't let me down once.
I considered paying more and going with BFG KM3s. I would probably get an extra 20k miles out of those but they cost a third more. Plus, with the mileage it does, I would be more concerned about the age of the tyre than the grip. So, I am getting a new set of the same tyres.
