Pirelli Scorpion Verde — rated 86%
while driving a Volkswagen Tiguan 2.0 TSI 200HP for 35000 miles
63500 kilometres, and just creeping to the legal limit. On a Tiguan Allspace 132TSI in Victoria Australia. So happy I’m replacing like for like. Chris

Bridgestone Dueler HP Sport — rated 76%
while driving a Mercedes Benz GLA180 for 40000 miles
Mercedes GLA200 AMG line (front wheel drive) that was factory fitted with Bridgestone Dueler HP Sport (MOE) tyres, not my choose of car but it cost me 1/3 of the used retail price. I normally use Michelin Supersports and Pirelli P Zero Corsa UHP tyres on higher performance cars.
I was a bit sceptical when I discovered MOE was Mercedes run flat system, I expected the car be harsh over bumps and skip on bumpy corners like my previous experience with BMW E90 Bridgestone run flats but was pleasantly surprised.
On the French motorways to the south of France, I found the car very stable and easy to place at speed (up to 80 mph officer). I have on occasions pushed the tyres and found them predictable wet and dry but never tried them on snow.
After driving 40000 mainly relax miles (it’s not a sports car) on the tyres I replaced the whole set with the same. Bit more expensive but the tyre are well matched to the car, even tyre wear and no tramlining even when worn to 2.0 mm, consistent behaviour over the life of the tyre. No experience a puncture on these tyres, so cannot comment on flat running. The tyre rim saver does not prevent damage, even with the lightest accidental touch of the kerb.

Hankook Ventus S1 evo 3 SUV — rated 81%
while driving a Audi Q7 for 12000 miles
OEM in Audi Q7 50 Tdi Vorsprung. Hard to break traction through the bends in dry and amazingly wet too but they break a little early in hard wet braking. 35 profile gives a bit firmer ride than I'd like but overall good performance and value. Expecting to get approx 15-16k miles when they will be at 3mm. Would like a all-season tyre ideally but those in this size in UK seem to have poor wet weather performance, so will probably stick with Hankook.

Hankook Ventus S1 evo2 SUV — rated 79%
while driving a Volkswagen Tiguan for 6500 miles
Cant expect miles of wear when I drive a SUV tyre in track/racing conditions, if you like high performance cornering, beware of sidewall and outer edge wear, other than that its been a great tyre and i would consider buying again for the price. Has had a rough life in both rain, dry and even ice, and plenty of wheelspins, powerslides, and understeer hopping but it cant be everything all at once. Highly reccomend for people who want a good performing tyre.

Hankook Ventus S1 evo 3 SUV — rated 77%
while driving a Audi Q5 · Driving on a combination of roads for 24000 average miles
Had to change my Audi q5 tyres after 24000 miles. Not great longevity. Apart from that I had no problems and replaced them with the same new tyre.

Pirelli Scorpion Verde — rated 53%
while driving a Volkswagen Tiguan · Driving on a combination of roads for 15000 average miles
"Rushed" purchase of two tyres due to road trip puncture. Quickly switched them to the front due to their tendency to lose grip on wet corner far quicker the the pair of continentals on the other axle. The understeer is much more controllable with them up front vs the unpredictable oversteer when fitted at the back. This understeer is not gradual, but comes on suddenly. Quite comfortable and low noise, but will see how this changes as they wear more. Wear is not great compared to the Continentals, almost catching up to the older tyres tread depth in only a few years. Appear to track well on uneven roads, and responsive with spirited driving on windy roads. Not great with aquaplaning, floating at much less speed than the continentals. Braking, wet and dry seems to be fine, and tyres has responded well to emergency situations sucessfully.

purchased two avon 225/55R18 98v zx7 on 17/09/2025 with 8mm tread.Drove 769 miles, I have written paper work that the tread was down to 5mm. I dont think this is normal.

Bridgestone Dueler HP Sport — rated 44%
while driving a Land Rover Discovery 4 · Driving on mostly country roads for 5000 spirited miles
Such a poor tyre, these came on the car when I bought and had about 8mm of tread remaining and I was initially pleased as Bridgestone is a reputable brand. During the summer these were good on warm dry roads, the car was however susceptible to tram lining on motorways, I initially put this down to the width of the tyres, how wrong I was.
Once the weather changed my opinion on these tyres changed drastically, the car would dangerously aquaplane on the slightest amount of water and became difficult to control in bad weather, made driving extremely uncomfortable. The slightest amount of mud at the side of the roads was also enough to cause the wheels to lock up under slight braking, I drive mostly on country roads in the Scottish Highlands. My wife's VW Tiguan on Uniroyal Rainsport 5's does not exhibit these traits on the same roads, a far more safe and confident drive.
At my work we have a discovery 4 as well and it runs on Goodyear duratracs and does not exhibit these handling traits in poor weather so it can be directly attributed to the tyres.
Also they are wearing fast, 5000 miles done and 5mm tread gone from the front so its time to change before the winter, 3mm left on the front and 5mm on the back and they have been changed for Goodyear's as I've never had any problems with them.

Kumho Crugen HP71 — rated 44%
while driving a Kia Motors EV6 GT · Driving on a combination of roads for 20000 average miles
Found handling very poor especially in the wet, compared to continental premium 6 that the car came with from the factory. They wore down about twice as fast as the contis, so we will be going back to conti tyres.

Nothing to complain about, great tires that fit the car and my style of driving. Would buy again.

Avon Ranger H/TT — rated 59%
while driving a Mitsubishi PININ · Driving on mostly town for 3000 easy going miles
These were new on a shogun pinin on rear.
It did low mileage especially during covid.
None off road, just tarmac
They were not cheap and european made, so I thought I was buying quality.
Have been treated well and garaged.
They have cracked terribly as I have learnt all Avon tyres do. So avoid this brand!!!
Stop making rubbish tyres that crack before they wore out. It's bad for the environment and everyone except manufacturers.

Continental ContiSportContact 5 SUV — rated 48%
while driving a Audi Q5 TFSI e · Driving on mostly town for 14000 average miles
Grip in dry and wet was acceptable if nothing special. The reason I wrote this review is to say that the wear has been appalling at 14000 miles before needing replacements on my Audi Q5 TFSI-e. These were fitted as OEM from new but I won't be putting any continentals back on it. I had a similar issue with the OEM continentals on my Audi Q2 which lasted about 13000 miles before needing new ones.
