Fitment comes from each tyre's manufactured size list, and the sizes are the ones drivers reported when they reviewed. Check the size, load index and speed rating on your own doorplate before buying - a size a previous owner ran is not always the size your car left the factory on.

Bridgestone Potenza Adrenalin RE005 225-45-17 BMW E90 325i 2,500 miles September 5, 2026

I have run the Bridgestone Potenza RE005 on my BMW E90 for 7 months after replacing the older RE003. The car has KW Street Comfort coilovers and upgraded brake pads.

The RE005’s firm carcass gives it more direct, responsive and stable handling than the Michelin PS5 on my other BMW, with a bit stronger dry grip than the PS5. Its sidewall is slightly less rigid than the RE003’s, but outright grip is higher.

The steering has decent weight and clearly communicates available front tyre grip. Sharp turn-in and the car hold its line and remain balanced, with negligible understeer. At the limit, breakaway is progressive and slides are easy to catch. Subjectively, it handles very similarly to the higher tier Continental SC7 on my Cayman, though the SC7 offers slightly more outright grip.

Wet performance is a big improvement over the RE003, remaining predictable with good feedback. The PS5 still retains a slight advantage under wet braking and through standing water. Wear has been reasonable for the performance, while the ride is firmer than the PS5 and broadly similar to the SC7.

Goodyear EfficientGrip 205-55-16- BMW E90 320d November 8, 2024
Sorry I can't give a full review but I've just changed my front from Michelin Energy Saver (down to 3mm) to the Goodyear Efficient Grip & they seemed to have transformed the drive. The Michelin seemed a soft rubber compound & so far I'm impressed with a maiden drive to the local airport & back. Well done Goodyear (fingers crossed) P.s equally great on fuel as the Michelin Energy tyres were ;-)

Maxxis Premitra All Season AP3 225-50-16- BMW E90 325i 500 miles February 21, 2022
Very good tyre. Mainly used on mountain roads (temp 0-20 degrees) and it is stable both on tight and large turns. Ice and snow grip is more than enough. Side blocks don’t deteriorate like it does on crossclimate when driving dynamically. I used to have bridgestone potenza re050 runflat which were slightly more stable at high speeds but maxxis are better in tight turns. Main difference is sidewall stiffness: maxxis are more confortable but a little more vague in my size. To be confirmed with more kilometers and higher temperatures...

Yokohama Advan Neova AD08 225-45-17-W BMW E90 325i 1,000 miles December 1, 2020
Going from Continental Extreme DW to these Advans I sense a softer, tyre. This translates to a less sharp steering response and initial turn in feeling..but more overall grip as the tyre hangs on very well. Another effect of softness is that the tyre is compliant over bumps and potholes which is a nice surprise compared to the Contis. Surprising also is its sensitivity to tyre pressure...which provides a good fine tuning tool. Yet to try them in the wet. Wear rate to be determined.

A safe and comfortable tire. Best on wet and unbelievably quiet! slightly worse in a bend at higher temperatures. I highly recommend!

I wasn t sure about these tires before i bought them so i worried a little they wouldn t do a good job. I was mistaken. They are great on wet, snow, and on dry roards. Have them for 3 months already and i don`t regret it. Great performance/price ratio. I definitely recommand!

Vredestein Wintrac xtreme S 225-45-17- BMW E90 325i 10,000 miles January 9, 2016
A good all round winter tyre. Not as good as my Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta in the dry or wet when it's warmer, but the Wintrac extreme S comes into its own when it get near freezing!!

Uniroyal RainSport 3 225-45-17- BMW E90 330i 1,000 miles April 18, 2015
Put brand new 255/35/18 uniroyal Rainsport 3 on the rear of a BMW e90 330 i and the handling at speeds above 65 mph was basically dangerous and felt like the back was arguing with the front. When braking hard at speed the car would pull to one side badly. Running directional tyres on the front which apparently don't work with the uniroyal rainsport 3. I put my 225/40/18 fronts on the back and the uniroyal rainsport 3 on the front and the problem went away. Problem is this is not a permanent fix. Beware of buying rainsport 3 tyres if only bought as a pair and fitted with directional tyres. Uniroyal should worn buyers but won't, so I am.

Accelera PHI 225-45-17- BMW e90 M3 3,000 miles March 25, 2014
Follow on to my review from December 2013. I have now had these on the rear of the car for over 3,000 miles. I've driven a complete mix of weather conditions from torrential rain with standing water, very cold, wet, salty roads, dry sunny roads etc. The tyres have given me no moments at all. Yes you can provoke the back end of the car by stabbing the throttle when applying some steering lock but all very predictable. I have driven the car in every mode of the traction control from fully on, M-Dynamic mode through to fully disengaged and the car does what you expect it to. I've come out of junctions in 1st and 2nd gear with a heavy right foot and the M-diff just hooks up and the car fires down the road. If the tyres were as lethal as some of the scaremongers on here they wouldn't be able to sell them.
Reading comments like I lost control at 20mph or at 74mph on a motorway makes me wonder what kind of drivers are out there on our roads. If you can totally lose control of a car in those situations perhaps it's time to hand back your driving license?
As I previously stated when these wear out which seems like it's going to be ages as they show no signs of any wear yet, I will go for a premium brand to see the difference. I will report back in another couple of months now that the better weather is arriving.
