Methodology & Configuration
Scoring Process
  1. Collect Test Data: Gather results from professional tyre tests across multiple publications. Minimum 1 test(s) required.
  2. Normalize Positions: Convert test positions to percentile scores using exponential weighting (factor: 1.2).
  3. Apply Recency Weighting: More recent tests are weighted higher with a decay rate of 0.95.
  4. Incorporate User Reviews: Factor in user review data (minimum 5 reviews). Weight: 15%.
  5. Bayesian Smoothing: Apply Bayesian prior (score: 7, weight: 1.5) to prevent extreme scores with limited data.
  6. Calculate Final Score: Combine all components using normalization factor of 1.1. Max score with limited data: 9.5.

Kindly i need to know which one is the best?! Marshal mu12 or hankook ventus prime 3. Thanks in advance

I've not seen the Marshal tyre tested, however I think it would be a safe guess that the Hankook was the better overall product.

Given 90% while driving a Daewoo Lanos (195/50 R15) on mostly motorways for 15,000 spirited miles
tire offered very good dry grip and precise cornering that is not expected from a tire in this price range... overall handling was very very good... maybe even better than the Kumho Ecsta range (PS31 & KU31 & HS51) i had before

Given 90% while driving a Toyota Vios (195/55 R15) on mostly town for 1 spirited miles
Was using Toyo Proxes TR1 previously. The tyre tend to be noisy after 30% wear although Dry Grip and Wet Grip are good. Just changed to this Marshal MU12 after strong recommendation by Tyre Shop. Driven for 1,500km. Everything was better than my expectation compared to my previous set

Given 72% while driving a Volkswagen Arteon 2,0L Tsi (245/35 R20) on a combination of roads for 1,000 average miles
Had to replace my P Zero tyres at 40,000km (screws, pot holes etc.) Buying a set of 4 of these was $200 less than 2 P Zeros tyres.
The economy has dropped a little.
Road noise is slightly up.
Handles good in a 300hp AWD car.
Same Speed rated as more expensive tyres.

Given 94% while driving a Toyota Camry (225/45 R18) on a combination of roads for 7,000 average miles
Introduced to me by the garage on my Camry.

Noticed instantly the improvement compared to the original tyre on my vehicle. More confidence steering feel on highway

Have been driving on it for 10k km

Given 87% while driving a Skoda (205/55 R16) on mostly motorways for 3,000 spirited miles
I have replaced the Bridgestone Turanza ER300 with the MU12 tires. The MU12 tires are superior in terms of performance, but they do produce more noise compared to the ER300 tires.

Given 100% while driving a Kia Motors Sportage (245/45 R19) on mostly motorways for 10 miles
Only just fitted to my 2019 KIA Sportage GT Line. Much quiter than the Hankook tyres which came fitted with the vehicle. Good ride and handling performance so far. Only run for around 700+ klms but so far very happy. Only dry highway driving towing a 1600kg caravan. Really worth considering before you go to the high end tyre brands.
