I have a RAV4 4x4 and it has a new set of lass competes hp tyres. The tyre sidewall nearest the steel wheel has tiny small slit like cracks, can somebody tell me what these are and why or how this has happened. Thanks

Cracks can occur in rubber as it ages. Check the DOT code of the Lassa tyres to see when they were made, and whether they need replacing.

got some excellent advise and bought a set, seem to be very quite and a lot better than the kumo I had on

Given 82% while driving a Volvo XC60 (225/65 R18) on a combination of roads for 600 average miles
Was doubious at first but had these fitted as I was told they are basically Bridgestone tyres. Up to now, they have been excellent and only the wear has yet to be proven. Up to now, I would recommend considering a 'known brand' could cost you half as much again, if not more.

Great in snow, very low road noise, look the part, great grip in the wet, don't impact on mpg and, stop just as good as the old P Scorpions that came off.

Not impressed with the total tyre. Have only done 36k and worn out on our family car. Never buy again and am about to go back to my supplier and ask a few questions. Unable to find a tyre wear code anywhere on the tyres. Very unhappy user.

Given 84% while driving a Chery Tiggo 7 (225/45 R17) on mostly town for 28,000 spirited miles
Car Make & Model: 2022 Chery Tiggo 7
Driving Style: Mixed — city, long-distance highway, and occasional rough roads
Owned For: ~4 years
Distance Driven: ~45,000 km (28,000 miles)

Review:
I’ve had these tires fitted to my 2022 Chery Tiggo 7 for almost four years now, and they’ve been nothing short of excellent for Egyptian road conditions. Over 45,000 km of driving, the tread wear has been barely noticeable. They’ve handled countless long trips between governorates, rough unpaved stretches, and smooth highways at speeds up to 180 km/h without breaking a sweat.

The grip is excellent both on dry and wet surfaces, and durability has really impressed me. The only slight drawback is the firmness — you do feel bumps and potholes more than you would with softer tires — but it’s a trade-off I’m fine with, given their overall performance.

At this point, I’d say they’ve worn by about 30% compared to when they were new, which is outstanding considering the roads and driving style.

Ratings:
• Dry Grip: ★★★★★ (9/10)
• Wet Grip: ★★★★☆ (8/10)
• Road Feedback: ★★★★☆ (8/10)
• Handling: ★★★★☆ (8/10)
• Comfort: ★★★☆☆ (7/10)
• Wear Resistance: ★★★★★ (9/10)
• Value for Money: ★★★★★ (9/10)

Overall: ★★★★☆ (4.5/5) — Highly recommended, especially if you want a tire that’s not overhyped but delivers top-notch real-world performance.
