Drawn from 10 tests. Updated October 29, 2026.
The Semperit SpeedLife 2 has a variable ten-test record, with aquaplaning resistance and wet handling receiving repeated praise but braking and wear results differing sharply. Auto Bild praised aquaplaning reserves and short wet and dry braking in 2016, while ADAC described balanced wet and dry performance in 2018. Yet it finished towards the back in braking in the 2018 Auto Navigator comparison and the 2019 Auto Bild shootout. The 2020 Auto Bild overview placed wet braking 16th of 49 but dry braking 32nd, showing that the two disciplines did not always move together.
Winning the 2019 Moottori test was unusually strong against that mixed record, and came in a field of eight mid-range tyres. It led dry braking, wet braking, wet handling and straight aquaplaning, although testers noted lift-off oversteer. Third of 50 in the 2016 Auto Bild braking overview was another unusually strong result, contrasting with 14th of 16 in that year's ADAC test, where wet grip was criticised. Wear also varied: Auto Bild criticised it in 2016, while ADAC praised it in 2020, placing it third of twelve at 47,000 km and recommending it overall. The 2016 Auto Bild full test also criticised dry directional stability and rated the tyre satisfactory.
