Performance Analysis
Drawn from 13 tests. Updated November 11, 2025.
The Apollo Alnac 4g shows inconsistent summer performance across a long test history. Early tests included a standout 2/16 overall in 2014 Test World and several mid-pack finishes (2013-2015), but more recent comprehensive evaluations indicate declining competitiveness, with a 27/50 overall in the 2023 ADAC mega-test and bottom-tier results in several sub-metrics. Its wet and dry braking are generally mid-to-lower tier, while fuel consumption efficiency and straight-line aquaplaning are relative bright spots.
Overall, the tyre trends toward lower-middle performance with notable weaknesses in value, wear-related abrasion, and wet braking versus class leaders. It can perform acceptably in less demanding conditions but struggles to match current-generation contenders in safety-critical wet metrics and ownership cost factors.

2021 ADAC Summer Tyre Test - 205/55 R16
The Apollo Alnac 4G has imprecise steering in the dry with an oversteer balance, but a short dry braking distance.
2015 Test World Summer Tyre Test
The Apollo Alnac 4G lacks effective braking on wet surfaces and has relatively weak lateral grip. In addition, the tyres easily start to slide, and during an emergency manoeuvre the rear wheels may suddenly go into a skid. Poor resistance to aquaplaning. In the dry the tyres behave predictably, but lack overall grip. Noise and comfort are good but fuel economy average.
2014 Test World Summer Tyre Test
Apollo present a real surprise and become one of the best on test in wet braking. These tyres have no problem coping with emergency maneuvers, with no unexpected loss of grip. With no obvious weaknesses, Apollo have never never demonstrated such consistencies in all areas
2013 Test World Summer Tyre Test
The is the first time test world have tested a tyre from Apollo, and their debut was quite successful - perhaps after buying Vredestein company received new developments that successfully used in the production of tyres under its own brand. The tyre had short braking distances on dry and wet surfaces, they were even able to match the tyres from much more well known brands. In terms of handling, the Apollo was too sluggish to respond to steering and easy to lose grip, but they have a very high comfort level. Overall, nice try, but deficiencies still exist, and besides, Apollo has a high rolling resistance.
2013 Auto Zeitung Summer Tyre Test
A good start for the new Apollo Alnac 4G, high rolling resistance and slightly slow wet lap time leave it in ninth
