Methodology & Configuration
Scoring Process
  1. Collect Test Data: Gather results from professional tyre tests across multiple publications. Minimum 1 test(s) required.
  2. Normalize Positions: Convert test positions to percentile scores using exponential weighting (factor: 1.2).
  3. Apply Recency Weighting: More recent tests are weighted higher with a decay rate of 0.95.
  4. Incorporate User Reviews: Factor in user review data (minimum 5 reviews). Weight: 15%.
  5. Bayesian Smoothing: Apply Bayesian prior (score: 7, weight: 1.5) to prevent extreme scores with limited data.
  6. Calculate Final Score: Combine all components using normalization factor of 1.1. Max score with limited data: 9.5.

Given 43% while driving a Volvo XC60 (255/45 R20) on mostly town for 18,000 average miles
These tires came stock on my 2023 Volvo XC60 Recharge -- and, at 18000 miles, I'm now shopping for new tires because the Continentals are close to EOL. I'm a pretty boring driver (I drive a Volvo), and the mileage on the car is probably 40% highway and 60% "around town." The tires are supposed to be warranted for 65,000 miles, and they've lasted less than 1/3 of that. I've never had tires that fell short of their rated mileage -- yet these have fallen FAR short. I did not purchase these tires (they came stock), but I will never purchase Continentals after this experience.

Given 90% while driving a Land Rover Discovery Sport (235/55 R19) on mostly town for 20,000 average miles
I bought my LR second-hand with these tryres on it back in early 2020, it’s now end of 2024, I’ve had no problems whatsoever, great tyres, would definitely recommend from my personal experience. My tyres do now need changing, I was going to find and buy there but looks like they’re old tyres now so not easy to find. So after researching, I’m going to try out the Pirelli scorpions to see what they’re like.

Given 23% while driving a Volvo XC70 T6 (235/50 R18) on mostly motorways for 28 easy going miles
Tires came equipped on the car. Original owner was a 70+ year old doctor who drove conservatively. My wife used the car the most as their nanny and drove it home to work. She is an Asian woman who got her license in her late 30s so as you can imagine, an easy going obey traffic laws kind of a driver. The car was given to us and I put maybe 2k miles on it myself, I'm impatient and pass on the right kind of a driver but don't push the car and not a "spirited" driver. Tires cause mild vibration at maybe 55 mph and over. Car history, 28,500 Miles (obvious American) in need of 3rd tire replacement. Horrible reviews on Continentals own U.S. website. Gotta figure any tire that does not have a mileage warranty is probably going to be crap. Highway and city miles Between New Jersey to/from New York City, and Connecticut to/from New York City. Car is a 2015.5 Volvo crossover vehicle. Currently researching 4 tire replacement. Not wasting another dime on these.
Only crossover I've ever driven and no other experience with tires on the car so hard to gauge much of the scores. They don't have a score specifically for hydroplaning. Figured an AWD crossover would handle hydroplaning better. Seemed to take longer to recover than I would have expected.

Given 41% while driving a GMC Acadia (225/45 R17) on mostly town for 29,500 average miles
The only reason I have these tires are because they came on the vehicle that I purchased from the dealer. Normal city driving and regular rotation here I am getting ready to replace them at 29,500 miles. DO NOT purchase these tires if you plan on them lasting. My vehicle was garaged so was not exposed to constant sunlight but still wore down way too quick.

Given 40% while driving a Chevrolet Gray chevrolet blazer (235/65 R18) on mostly motorways for 0 easy going miles
These tires came on my wifes 2023 Blazer. Had flats on 3 out if four. Tires are very soft when trying to plug. Put all new tires on Blazer at 6,000 miles at my own expense

Given 54% while driving a Lincoln (245/50 R20) on mostly town for 31 average miles
The worse wearing tires I have had in literally 50 years. Lasted 31 K- mi. over 4 years in winter and summer conditions. A rather expensive tire for a short life.

Given 37% while driving a Chevrolet (225/45 R17) on mostly motorways for 0 average miles
Horrible tires, no traction whatsoever in the rain and forget snow and ice. I wouldn't put these tires on the wagon I pull behind my mower!

Given 40% while driving a Nissan Pathfinder (235/65 R18) on a combination of roads for 9,000 spirited miles
Not impressed, slip in the corners under speed limit conditions around town, hold ok on the open road but a little nervous now i know they do not hold terribly well at low speeds, especially in the wet. actively looking for a replacement tyre as we speak....

Given 74% while driving a Ford Ranger (265/60 R18) on mostly motorways for 40,000 average miles
Used for 64000 km on Ford Ranger wildtrak. Love them. Except in wet mud tends to slip a lot.

Given 34% while driving a Land Rover Discovery Sport (225/45 R17) on mostly town for 15,500 easy going miles
These were fitted to the car from new and the fronts are completely worn after 15k miles. the rears are not that far behind, we will not be replacing with the same make / type of tire.

Given 90% while driving a Kia Motors Sportage (235/55 R17 V) on a combination of roads for 100 average miles
I’ve had these in the car for a few days now and have to say I love them. They are quiet and comfortable, and they provide good handling and good feedback. There is no sign of tram lining and they give good steering response. I will review them again after a few thousand miles, but so far all is good and I am very pleased.
