Performance Analysis
Drawn from 28 tests. Updated September 10, 2025.
Across 28 tests, the Goodyear Vector 4Seasons Gen-2 delivers consistently excellent all-season performance with an average overall position of 2 and multiple test wins. Its standout traits are wet grip and balanced winter capability, frequently topping wet braking/handling and regularly placing near the front in snow tests. It also shows solid wear and efficiency results. The primary trade-off is dry braking, where it repeatedly lags the best, though overall dry balance is usually acceptable. In mixed-condition comparisons (including against summer and winter references), it often wins or places on the podium thanks to its strong wet/winter blend.

2018 Auto Express All Season Tyre Test
A good all round performance, very strong in the wet, and quietest tyre on test.
2018 AZ Summer AND All Season Tyre Test
The Vector 4 Season Gen-2 proves to be the strongest all season tyre in the wet, but can't match the Crossclimate or summer tyres in the dry. An excellent all round performance otherwise.
New VS 4mm VS 2mm All Season Tyre Performance
Strong all-rounder with best performance on wet and snowy roads at new and 4 mm. Average dry grip to start with, but improves as the tyre wears. Low rolling resistance, and a good price to wear ratio. Recommended.
2016 Auto Express All Season Tyre Test
A fine all rounder that's really safe in the wet and snow.
2016 AMS SUV All Season Tyre Test
A well balanced tyre. A little understeer in the snow, good dynamics in the wet, good dry cornering but slightly weak under dry braking. An excellent winter bias all season tyre with low rolling resistance
2016 ACE All Season Tyre Test
An equal to the winter tyre in almost all areas, the Goodyear is a great choice for extremely cold and snowy climates
2015 French All Season Tyre Test
Joint top with the Nokian WeatherProof, the gen-2 version of the Goodyear Vector 4 Seasons is an excellent all round tyre. The Goodyear was weaker than the Nokian in the snow, but better in the wet.
2015 Auto Express All Season Tyre Test
The second generation of the multi test-winning Goodyear Vector 4Season focused on improving the wet ability of the tyre, and judging by this test they've been successful. The Goodyear won the wet tests, beating even the summer tyre in wet braking, handling and on the wet circle, came close to the best in the dry, and was second overall in the snow. When combined with the best rolling resistance and second quietest ride, the Goodyear might actually be the best all season tyre for the UK, where wet roads are more of an issue than snow.
