Caterham R400 Tyre Review Highlights
Inherited a Superlight R400 with Avon ZZR 185 / 55 / 13 front , 205 / 55 / 13 back , which I use hill climbing pretty good in dry , fairly progressive but very average in damp , very early breakaway no warning , tyres are 4 and 6 years old so might be age , I run 18 psi at a climb , might be too high , are they as good as Toyo R88R that I ran on a Subaru Spec C with 445 bhp , dont quite think so they seem harder and more snappy even in dry

Especially for a Caterham or Lotus this is probably the best thing out there, the amount of dry grip is truly insane - at the end of the day it's a semi-slick so it's going to be good. Even in the wet this is still a great tyre - I've driven through torrential rain storms in southern france, through several cm's standing water at 70mph+ and I'm still here. In the dry go round a few corners hard, the tyres will warm up and you'll stick to the road like nothing else!

I use this tyre on my Caterham, gives astonishing levels of grip in the dry but not so much in the wet (It is a trackday/race tyre after all!) would highly recommend for track users
