2026 AutoView Sport Tyre Test P5 of 7

The Nexen N'Fera Sport SU2 finished fifth and is the value entry to this class. It does not match the leaders for precision or for braking, but nothing it does is unpredictable or alarming, and the price gap to the tyres above it is real. It suits a driver moving up to a sports tyre for the first time who does not want to pay premium money to do it.

Performance Analysis

Drawn from 22 tests. Updated September 8, 2026.

Across 22 summer tyre tests, the Nexen N Fera Sport SU2 shows a clear pattern as a “value/performance” UHP tyre with standout refinement and braking, but inconsistent dynamic handling-especially in the wet-and generally mediocre efficiency metrics. Overall results cluster in the mid-pack (average overall position 8.5), with a notable test win (1st/9 in 2021 ACE/GTU) but also several bottom finishes (e.g., 10/10 in 2026 ACE, 10/10 in 2021 Auto Zeitung, 11/11 in 2023 Sport Auto), indicating performance variability depending on test format and competitors.

Its strongest, most repeatable advantages are low external noise and good comfort, plus strong dry braking that often ranks near the top even in large fields. Weak points are more consistent in handling balance and control (dry handling can be last-place in some tests, and wet handling frequently sits in the lower half), while rolling resistance and wear/abrasion are rarely class-leading and sometimes poor versus the best tyres in group tests.

Auto Bild 245/45 R19 gut (Good)

The Nexen N'Fera Sport finishes ninth with short braking distances in both wet and dry conditions and good overall safety margins. It qualifies as a solid mid-range choice. The noted handling weakness is a slightly delayed turn-in response, which affects steering precision. Pass-by noise is low, placing it among the quieter tyres in the test.

2026 ACE Summer Tyre Test

ACE 225/40 R18

Nexen N'Fera Sport came last on 128 points but still earned a "recommended" rating, underscoring that no tyre in this test was truly poor. Its clearest weakness was braking: it scored just 19 out of 30 in wet braking and 23 out of 30 in dry braking after posting the longest stopping distances on both surfaces - 34.73 metres dry and 28.34 metres wet, nearly four metres and almost a full car length behind the best in the wet. Its dry safety score of 42 was the worst in the field, with a handling result of just 12 out of 20. Yet it showed a completely different side elsewhere: its wet handling score of 16 was mid-pack, its curve aquaplaning score of 10 out of 10 placed it among the best, and its economy score of 23 was the highest in the test - driven by the best noise result (7 out of 10) and strong rolling resistance (16 out of 20). At €70 it is one of the cheapest options, but the poor braking performance is a significant safety concern that is hard to overlook.

2025 Autobild Sports Cars UUHP Tyre Test

Auto Bild Sportscars 295/30 R20

The Nexen N'Fera Sport SU2 surprised testers as a well-rounded all-rounder with impressive capabilities. Described as having good steering precision and secure handling on dry surfaces, this Korean tyre proved to be a pleasant surprise, especially with its outstanding wet performance. The Nexen particularly impressed in aquaplaning tests, where it most effectively displaced water under the tread. Testers noted its balanced character with good braking performance on both wet and dry surfaces, though it became slightly unstable during wet braking. Overall, it delivers strong performance at a competitive price point.

2025 Auto Bild Summer Performance Tyre Test

Auto Bild 225/40 R18

The Nexen N'Fera Sport provided good aquaplaning reserves, short braking distances, and very low rolling resistance which helps with fuel economy. Its main weaknesses were delayed turn-in response during wet handling tests and slightly limited mileage of 34,780 kilometers. The tyre performed better in dry conditions than wet, though it maintained acceptable safety margins in all situations. With a purchase price of €320, it offered reasonable cost performance at €9.20 per 1000 kilometers, delivering solid performance for its price point and earning a "satisfactory" rating.

2025 ADAC Summer Tyre Test

ADAC 225/40 R18

The Nexen N Fera Sport achieves a "good" overall rating, earning "good" scores for both driving safety and environmental performance. While providing adequate feedback on dry roads, it can be sensitive to temperature increases, making precise steering slightly challenging. However, it maintains stability during maneuvers and achieves excellent braking. On wet roads, it receives a "good" rating, with good braking, but it only achieves adequate aquaplaning resistance and handling, exhibiting some understeer. Its environmental performance is "good," with good projected mileage, abrasion, efficiency, low weight and fuel consumption.

Nexen seem to have focused on dry performance with the Nexen N'Fera Sport, as the test car drives precisely with high levels of grip. The N'Fera Sport could only achieve a satisfactory result in the wet as it loses grip early on in wet handling. It is inconspicuous when it comes to noise, but is one of the worst on test for fuel usage. Middle of the field result in the wear test.
