Yokohama Geolandar A/T G015
WatchThe Yokohama Geolandar AT G015 is a road-friendly all-terrain tyre that blends SUV/truck toughness with impressively civilised day-to-day manners. Drivers and tests consistently highlight its low noise levels, comfortable ride and reassuring wet-weather behaviour for an A/T pattern. It works best as an all-rounder for mixed use rather than a specialist winter or heavy-mud tyre.

Review Summary
Based on 31 user reviews
Overall, drivers rate the Yokohama Geolandar AT G015 as a strong road-oriented all-terrain tyre, frequently praising its quiet, comfortable highway manners and confident wet-weather grip. Many high-scoring reviews also report long, even tread life and capable light-to-moderate off-road traction on gravel, dirt, and rocks, making it a well-liked all-rounder for SUVs and trucks. A smaller but notable group report inconsistent wear/performance as the tyre ages (or on certain vehicles) and some users find snow/ice performance-especially on packed/compacted snow-less reliable than expected for a 3PMSF tyre.
Strengths
- Quiet and comfortable ride for an a/t tyre

- Capable off-road performance on gravel/dirt/rocks and light-to-moderate mud
Areas for Improvement
- Inconsistent tread life or performance drop-off as the tyre ages for some users
- Snow/ice traction is mixed for some drivers
- With weaker performance on packed/compacted snow
- Slight increase in fuel consumption/rolling resistance compared with road-focused tyres
- Limited capability in deep or very wet/claggy mud

Our SUV Eclipse Cross 2.2 8-autom 4x4 came with Yokohama summer tires, so it was obvious that the Geolander 225/55/R18 would be a good fit for the car, the included 2nd set of aluminum rims was fitted with Yokohama Geolanders. The vehicle is great to drive with them, the 4x4 provides drive, always. Safe driving in snow and mud, dry and wet too. But of course you should drive according to the weather conditions, because even a Geolander is no panacea! It has been in use in autumn/winter/spring for 5 years now and does a good job, never let us down! Air has not been an issue all these years, checked when changing and done! The tread is now slowly running out, it is clear that the Crossi will get Yokohamas again, and my next car will probably too. An A+ from me! Robust, holds up, drives well with a total permissible weight of 2.3t and a towing capacity of 2t - a good choice!
I recommend the tire.

My first impression of these tires were disappointing. Steering was very numb & floaty due to the soft sidewalls, I also had to have 2 of the tires replaced under warranty because they had radial runout issues and wouldn't balance. Dry traction is good. Wet traction is okay, but getting worse as they age along with noise. Snow & ice traction is good enough, but not great. Wear has been the most surprising thing about them. I think they could make it legitimately 60k, and that is with about 2,000 miles of towing on them. The PB is hard on the rear tires due to the truck braking the rear tires primarily with the energy recovery system, and the truck is in 2WD 95% of the time. I have rotated them every 10k miles. Other than the initial issues I have had zero other problems with them.
I will not be buying this tire again, mainly because I have wholesale relationships with suppliers and want to try something else. I am looking very closely to the new Pirelli XTM AT, Michelin Defender Platinum, and Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac RT. I am not shopping the KO3 right now because of the lack of circumferential channels, that I believe, will lead to worse hydroplaning characteristics and numb on center tracking.
Today they showed their weakness and that was in the snow.
We have had about 5 inch of wet snow, they are not to bad on the fresh stuff but
driving back in my own tracks they were all over the place, not very confidence giving.
Won't be getting another set.
Tyrewear is slow and hard enough on rocks not to worrie about sharp edges pierce them. Looks nice on LR4 with sidegrip treads.
They're cheap, great on the road and adequate off it. BFGs they ain't.
First year: Best tires i had. Excellent grip in every condition. 10 000 km in first year thread depth from 9.5mm to 8mm.
Second year: Left with 20-30% of initial wet and snow grip and much harder tire compound. Dry grip still ok. OFF road grip still good but became very bad at the rocks especially in the wet(Almost like on ICE). Another 10 000 km in second year tread depth from 8mm to 7.3mm.
Third year: Will I crash the car or throw them away. They are history. Bought New rims And went with AGAIN with YOKOHAMAS but mud terrain G003.
Overall: I would NOT recommend them if you are not doing a lot of miles. They are very good when they are brand new but they deteriorates EXTREMELY FAST as you can see from my post.
SIDE NOTE: GO15 is very good in the mud almost like MT tire but slippery on the rocks and this is not exaggeration.
