265/70 16 Tyre Review Highlights

Goodyear Wrangler All Terrain Adventure rated 55% while driving a Toyota Tacoma
Driving on mostly town for 20 easy going miles
Ran these tires for 4 years on my 2020 Tacoma. They do give a nice ride and are dead quiet. These are pretty much the only positives about these tires. Dry and wet grip were very good when new but once they get a bit worn the grip just isn't there. I ran these only once in the first light snow of winter and immediately went out and bought a dedicated winter tire as the Goodyear Wranglers were horrible (I expected they would not be good in the snow). Durability was horrible as well. Had 2 rock punctures from small stones when they were paving a nearby road (I don't offroad). I've never had a small rock puncture a tire on me before this, but had it happen twice with the Wranglers. There is currently 60,000 kms on my truck and half of those kms are with my winters, so I'd say between 30,000-40,000 kms on the Goodyear Wranglers. About 3/32nds of tread left, so they are pretty much at the end of their life. Nowhere even close to the 95,000 km warranty Goodyear claims for these tires.

Maxxis Bravo AT771 rated 86% while driving a Dodge
Driving on mostly town for 50 average miles
I got around great with no weight in the bed during winter. It rides smooth with a load in the bed handles well hauling. I would highly recommend these as a great commercial tire as mine are 10ply.

Maxxis Bravo AT771 rated 100% while driving a Mitsubishi L200
Driving on mostly country roads for 5000 average miles
Put Maxxis AT 771’s on my L200. I can’t believe the difference. The track I use to get to my field I had to use 4x4 to get down it. I can now get down in 2 wheel drive. Grip is excellent. They disperse the water when hitting large puddles to the side so no windscreen being covered in water. When I bought my car it had budgets tyres on. Never again. The cost of Maxxis is well worth it.

Nokian Line SUV rated 60% while driving a Toyota Hilux Surf (1KZ TE)
Driving on mostly motorways for 40000 easy going miles
Initially OK, but after approx 40,000 easy motorway miles over 5 years, the tyres are splitting between the circumferential grooves and have failed inspection, despite still having 3 to 4mm of thread remaining.

Firestone Destination AT rated 80% while driving a Mitsubishi triton
Driving on a combination of roads for 50000 spirited miles
Very durable tires, I rode them for more than 65 thousand km, the driving was on all types of roads, asphalt and ballast, very good grip on dry and wet at the beginning, after 50 thousand km (with 30% life still useful) the grip in the wet was not so optimal (you could feel the difference with respect to the start of the tire) in the dry the grip remained the same as at the beginning, they are silent and have a good ride, I never suffered a puncture, as for durability superior to the Dunlop AT Grandtrek III 245 / 65R16 that my pick up brought, a very good option in durability and resistance to bad roads

Michelin Latitude Cross rated 44% while driving a Mitsubishi Pajero
Driving on mostly motorways for 250 easy going miles
After 400 Km (250 miles) and 2 weeks of use, I had the first puncture. It was caused by a 9mm diameter wood stick on the inside tread limit. These tires are weak and It will be hard to trust them.

Dunlop Grandtrek MT2 rated 34% while driving a Toyota Landcruiser
Driving on mostly country roads for 6000 easy going miles
they drive well, if a little noisy on tar.
They are wearing noticeably faster than our coopers.
We have had a lot if sidewall damage in the form of cuts, some fatal to the tyre.
We are seeing side wall ripples, bead to tread, on a lot of them.
We are running 36 of these on our safari fleet at the moment, will not buy anymore.

Insa Turbo DAKAR rated 63% while driving a Nissan Navara 2.5tdi
Driving on mostly motorways for 20000 average miles
Very good for what I got them for, which is to pull a horse box out of a muddy field which my Nivara now carries out with ease. In the dry they are very competent but noisey on the high way and off road no issues at all.
In the wet the rear will break away easily but controllably but no aquaplaning is evident.
In snow they work OK but they have limits (Not winter tyres) and Ice is best handled with great care.
Obviously a compromise for high way use, but for what I need they real do work well and I recommend them for muddy conditions
