Falken ZIEX ZE914 EcoRun

Not impressed by these tires, they show a lot of wear after just 10k kilometers. They are somewhat noisy on highways, not terrible but noticeable. On dry they perform well, on wet road they don´t fell that stable. Considering that I had ones with W speed rating - I can´t imagine driving them over 160km/h they feel like average touring tire, definitely not suitable for sporty ride.

Road grip is absolutely insane, and handles like rubber is sticking with the road at speeds over 160KMH.

Makes my 18 years old Toyota Premio drive SUPER STRONG.

I have had these tyres for about 3 years. I estimate I've travelled 50,000+ km's.
I'm now due to replace all 4
We have done done quite a few 2,000 k'm trips on good quality highways. The tyres were excellent in wet and dry and hard braking.
We have always felt safe driving with these tyres.
For me, personally, the steering is always the most important. The only issue I've had has been a screw in the front driver side tyre. Still, the tyre has held firm. Thus why I'm now replacing all 4 as the wear mark is also approaching. This is my 2nd set and I'm definitely considering these again
Sometimes, it's worth paying a 'little more' knowing the quality is never compromised
Tyres have always been 'noise free' and the ride has been very comfortable. Vito's are a good ride anyway
I bought this Vito with 199,000 and some Chinese tyres, they were very noisy and a little loose on roundabouts and 90' corners.
The Falken have always handled well.
I am very satisfied with this brand and tyre design.
I would definitely recommend them and, No, I'm not on the payroll Ha ha. I am an average road user and bought this Vito in 2016

The tyre wear has been even right across the tread pattern. I hope this helps other drivers.
I have also carried motorcycles in the rear and again, the drive was easy.

I have had these tyres on 3 different Toyota Corolla TS, this is their stock tyre, first time I left them on for about 6 months, which was about 6500 miles, as I was loathe to swap them for something nicer until I had put some wear on them, the second and third time (I swapped my 2022 Corolla TS for a 2025 Corolla TS 3 weeks ago) I changed them within the month, less than 1000 miles, as I cannot stand the constant cabin noise from these tyres.

Short version, horrible tyre, the cabin noise is honestly just outrageous, harsh ride, and doesn't really cope well with the pock marked roads, and if you give it a bit of spirited drive, they 'scrub' on the edge, noticeably, and quite honestly these tyres just do not suit the car at all.

Do not be fooled with the 68db rating, this is the drive by noise, which is probably quite close, as most of the noise apparently ends up in the cabin, and make sure you check the pressures too, because Toyota and tyre places always over inflate them, which makes these tyres even more harsh sounding and gives a rough ride on and lots of surfaces. Also, do not be fooled by the EcoRun name, these tyres are not actually that great for fuel economy, C rated, there are lots of tyres with a better fuel rating, and they are also not the greatest tyres for wet conditions, B rated, and they behave mostly ok in the wet, nothing special, but to be honest, for a car that comes in just short of £40k these tyres are a joke when there are so many other better tyres for similar money that do a far better job in every aspect than these tyres.
I have mixed driving so lots of city/town driving, where they are mostly quietish when just pootling about under 30MPH, which is probably why so many cabbies keep them on, country driving, which is a bit more spirited, and motorway driving, and they are invasive and noisy on all but the smoothest of roads, as long as you are going in a straight line, and even then they are noticeable, and on any other road surface, bring on the rumble at various levels.

I have swapped them on my latest Corolla, as I did on my previous Corolla, for Michelin CC3 Sports, quieter, nicer drive and ride, use slightly less fuel, cope better with the rubbish roads we have here in the UK and they cope so so much better in the cold, aka < 7C, not just when it is snowing, the difference is instantly noticeable.

I would not recommend the Falken ZIEX ZE914 EcoRun to anyone, there is no getting away from the fact these are mid grade tyres at best, yet with an almost premium grade price, which is crazy really, so just leave them on the car as long as you can live with them and then swap them for a tyre that suits your needs and wants, you wont be disappointed, as long as you pick the pick the right tyre for your car and driving requirements, you will be amazed at how much quieter your car cabin sounds, there are a ton of great tyres that will out perform these tyres in pretty much all areas, and will do it quieter job of it too, some are even cheaper than the Falkens or if you can afford it, just pay the extra and get a real premium grade tyre.

My 2023 Toyota Corolla came factory-fitted with Falken ZIEX ZE914 EcoRun tyres, and after 7,500 miles, they’ve proven to be solid everyday performers with a few compromises.

Ride & Noise: Comfort is good, with the tyres soaking up bumps well. However, they’re a bit noisy, especially on coarse asphalt or at motorway speeds.

Grip & Traction: Dry and wet grip are predictable and safe for normal driving. When accelerating hard from a standstill, the traction control activated twice, showing these tyres prioritise efficiency over strong off-the-line grip.

Handling & Braking: Handling is neutral with slightly muted steering feel. Braking performance is consistent and confidence-inspiring.

Economy & Wear: After 7,500 miles, tread wear is even and fuel economy is slightly improved thanks to the tyre’s low rolling resistance.

Initially, this was one of the three tires selected for replacement. Initially, some YOKOHAMA tires were installed. They weren't bad, offering good grip and safety, but they weren't suitable for the speed. They were 103V, and the vehicle originally uses 107V. After much consideration at the retailer, I decided to install the FALKEN tires, made in Thailand. Initial handling was a bit odd; they felt unsafe. In the water, they also felt slippery, but they didn't...

...then on the highway at 140 kph, they felt smooth and pleasant, with good grip and quiet. Then, increasing speed to see how they handled corners, 160 kph and 200 kph were great, with smooth and perfect grip. No need to brake before entering the corners, and being able to change lanes while cornering without slowing down. Brilliant grip.

Perfect AquaPlanning. Even in large puddles or pools, there was no sensation of any sudden jumps or movements; it was as if the water was not there. Great again.

I have used HANKOOK (very good but very noisy), TRACMAX (they deform with impacts and present alignment problems), CONTINENTAL (good but they don't last long).

Off-road, the FALKENs feel good. Low noise and normal grip at normal speeds.

it is a reasonably priced tyre they are comfortable and long-lasting the wear is good as well. it is quite an understeer-prone tyre in the dry and it doesn't grip as well as a Michelin ps5 or a Pirelli P-zero but it's still acceptable they get worse if you warm them up for some reason I don't recommend these for sporty drivers but for a normal commuter car these are good, especially for the price

Got these recently, put them to the test on a road trip with different grades of tarmac in Kenya. Great handling, wet braking is a bit shaky but tyres stick to the road overall especially factoring in the price. Let's see how they fare on.

The falken drive rather well for a relativly cheap tyre. Had them fitted from the factory on my 2020 Corolla Hybrid. however it's performance isn't to be compared with a Premium tyre. The tyres provided a good amount of grip in dry and wet weather. While braking bringing the car to a good stop without slipping. even on the colder days. The road feedback is also good, it feels more like a sporty tyre with good feedback, a tad heavier steering. This however mean it does not give the best comfort. Also don't let the "Ecorun" label fool you, this tyre has a rather high resistance and isn't really economical on the fuel. The biggest downsides for me were, that it's rather noisy inside the cabin and can provide a harsh ride when the road gets bad. They seem to hold up pretty well against wear. Overall for it's price, it's a pretty good tyre! But would not recommendid over a Premium tyre like Goodyear, Pirelli...

i cant complain about any aspect of the tyres performance in typical british conditions however as for wear, i purchased 4 in august 2021 and do mainly town driving with occasional motorway driving (once a month) and the front tyres have virtually worn out at just 8000 miles, ive contacted falken hq in germanyboth in february 2022 and again in march 2022 but have not even had the curtesy of a reply. ive purchased budget/ecconomy radial tyres before for previous cars and got at least 18 months approx 20,000 miles out of a front set of tyres so i cant recommend these tyres for financial reason alone.

Just change my continental uc6 with this falken, suprisingly its very comfort to handle road bump. The Noise still there but not worse like UC6. Other performace grip & handling cant say much because i only ride 50km from delers.

Quiet for a tyre with some performance aspirations. Useful upgrade in wet and dry performance and handling compared to a good "touring tyre". Steering response not significantly different from a touring tyre. Quite a lot of squeal when pushed hard in the dry, with progressive breakaway. Wearing evenly and reasonably. I expect to get at least 20k miles out of these (to be swapped front-to-back once, soon). Bump thump (ride) though is significantly worse than the touring tyres I used to run on this car. More like that of a high performance tyre, than a "mild" performance tyre in this respect. Great price without compromise in quality. No significant change noticed in rolling resistance compared to my previous set of Bridgestone eco touring tyres, so probably OK in this respect.

I bought my Falkens second hand in New Zealand for $450NZD (about $300 USD). They were in nearly new condition, and the previous owner was selling them because they were too heavy for his liking. Once I fitted them to the car, I didn't immediately notice a difference from my other tyres (Bridgestone Potenza Re003, 225 50 r17, and Pirelli Dragon sports and Firestones in 245 40 r18 - I have two sets of wheels). I've done about 10,000km or 6000 miles. In general, they seem to be pretty decent all-rounders, especially considering the price. I generally drive pretty gently but I do enjoy using the car a bit on a nice twisty road, and in a 2 ton plus car, the tyres take a proper beating. I've noticed the tyres get louder as they get warmer, and if you go through a corner a little faster than usual (though not thrashing it), you'll hear them get louder. They'll eventually start squealing, long before they actually lose traction. It's kind of annoying on really smooth quiet asphalt where you can push the car a little through a corner at a speed you know is perfectly safe for the tyres, yet they start getting quite loud. Luckily my car, being an A6, has plenty of sound insulation. In the wet, again, I have no fears when it comes to cornering. I haven't had a chance to really push them and see where they slip up (I have Quattro so it's not easy to find corners where that's easy and safe to do), but they seem to hold their own relatively well - I've noticed no major downfalls in that regard from my other tyres). I really can't comment on braking because I rarely get into situations where I need to brake hard, but I have no concerns at this point if they're at the right pressure (for my car, around 40ish psi). Wear again, I can't really comment on much as I've only done 10,000km, but in that time I think they've definitely reduced in tread. Where I live, we go through tyres very quickly because of the nature of our roads (hilly, windy(corner-y), bumpy, chip seal, etc). Would I buy again? Yeah, I would definitely at that price point. Brand new, I'm not sure how much they'll set you back, but second hand, nearly new, I think I got a pretty good deal.

I´m From Chile, in my country we have many irregular roads, (great highways, average roads in city, anothers whit bumps, and roads whit gravel and dirt) this tyres, are amazing in all tracks, when put on in my peugeot, the tyres NEVER lost preassure. before this tyres, i wear Michellin EcoSaver, really good, but, for the irregular roads in Chile, The Michelin tyres are damage very fast. I Recomend this Falken Ziex 914 EcoRun Sorry my english, but it's not my native lenguaje.
