Goodyear Vector 4Seasons Gen 3
Replaced by the Vector All Season 4 Replaces the Vector 4 Seasons Gen 2
The Goodyear Vector 4Seasons Gen 3 is a premium touring all-season tyre with strong wet and snow performance and long tread life. Its main weakness is dry braking, while wet braking and aquaplaning results are less consistent.
The Vector 4Seasons Gen 3 is a strong all-rounder, usually finishing among the leaders in independent all-season tests. Wet grip and handling are particular strengths, backed by praise from owners for confidence in rain. Snow traction, handling and braking are also consistently good for the category. Dry grip and handling are generally well regarded, while owners and testers alike point to long tread life. Many owners also find the ride comfortable, although opinions on road noise vary.
The clearest compromise is dry braking, which has often been among the weaker results in tests and has drawn complaints from some owners. Wet braking and aquaplaning resistance have produced mixed test results, despite generally positive owner feedback. Some owners find the steering light or vague, although testers tend to rate it more favourably. It suits drivers who want year-round grip and longevity, especially in wet or wintry weather, but those prioritising the shortest dry stopping distances should consider the trade-off.

2026 Auto Zeitung All Season Tyre Test P3 of 10
The Goodyear Vector 4Seasons Gen-3 finished third and is highly recommended. Apart from its dry braking it is a strong, well-rounded all-season tyre with excellent wear. Goodyear now sells the newer Vector All Season 4 alongside it in this size, aimed at better dry performance.

I been choosing new tires for Ford Kuga MK1 SUv with 4x4 120kW. I checked all tests which i found on yuour website and i want to buy Goodyear Vector 4Seasons G3, but i found there are two types of tires - Vector 4Seasons G3 with index H99 which is still good for me and Vector 4Seasons G3 SUV with index 103Y, my question is do i need to buy SUV variant or should be good the first variant? Because on SUV variant there are not that much tests like the first variant. Thanks Show less

Show more I bought a brand new set of this tyres for my Audi A3, size 225/45 R17, to replace my 7 year old winter tyres. Now I can hear a very obvious bumping noise coming from tyres, at about 40 to 50km/h. I can kind of feel it on the steering wheel too. Never heard that before with any winter nor all-season tyres, let alone summer tyres. Two separate garages checked the car, including Audi, and said they could no find anything wrong, and that the noise may be normal for those tyres. Can this be the case? Has anyone had the same experience with these tyres? I am really quite unhappy with them. Show less

These tyres have impressed me with a great all-round ability. Used on the front in Winter for maximum grip & then swapped to the rear in the warmer months, they've now done 3 seasons & will last this one too. Grip is good in the dry or wet, comfort is refined over bumps & no noise issues either. Definitely recommended.

Almost perfect tyres that even didn't let my down in heavy snow which really amazed me. And driven normally they seem to last forever.

Initial Impressions63% 2,000 milesI had the Vredestein Quatrac Pro before and it was a perfect tyre. Hoped that the Gen-3 would be at least as good as them but so far i´m really annoyed. Grip is perfect, but they produce an annoying noise level, are rumbling at almost any speed. My dealer had checked them twice, even balanced them again. Would i buy them again? No, which is a shame as they are really nice to drive. If i don´t get used to the noise (hope it goes away some day) i will change back to Vredestein in the autumn.

This tyre was such a joy to drive. No complaints other then dry braking. Very predictable at the limit and playfull, easy to control oversteer in snow. Unfortunately I have cut sidewall on one of them and switched to Pirelli Sf3 which was much better in dry braking, but in winter conditions it had snap oversteer and wasn't so nice to drive.

For complicated South European and Greek climate they performed really well thr first two years. Just in the middle of the third summer (two and a half years - around 30000km) grip suddenly became really bad almost dangerous.

Excellent tyres for moderate climates. I ran them in the Netherlands for over a full year now and they dont let down in any weather circumstance.
Minor things i feel the sound can be quite noticable on some roads, and rolling resistance is higher then it should.

For two years there excellent tyres.
Grip, dry, wet, handling, wet, dry, hot and cold, excellent.
During the third summer - hot summer south Europe - although it didn't worn yet, but it was dried especially the sides making driving not very safe and good.

I have never experienced this before with new tyres, but it has taken over 2,000 miles for these Goodyear Vector 3’s to ‘bed in’. There is definitely less resistance from the tyres now, and the car will freewheel further. Fuel consumption has improved, but it is still not as good as my previous tyres - Kleber Quadraxer 3’s. Apart from that gripe, the tyres are excellent.
I drive a lot in Italy and generally the locals don’t hang around. So you need a car that is agile and tyres that will grip well. Certainly on wet and greasy roads, the Goodyears really hold on. Wet braking is good too. I have not had a chance to try them on snow or ice.
The Goodyears make the car feel more chuckable and it changes direction without hesitation. The ride quality though, maybe because of this, is not so forgiving. It is just a question now of how long they will last, and when their performance might start to drop off.
In the future I will certainly pay more attention to the rolling resistance of tyres, and will choose a tyre with the lowest. It really does seem to make a difference.
