Overall a really decent tyre, good grip on wet and dry roads, I have not driven on snow or ice so no comments there. Seem to wear well probably better than sme well known brands. Good value for your money.

Not often I submit any reviews but if you are tempted to go with Avon tyres just dont. I was initially pleased with them on my Ford Focus and stupidly recommended them for my daughter in laws Vauxhall Astra. They looked good and for some reason I thought they were a bit above your average budget tyre. How very wrong. Less than 6 months after fitting they developed cracks between the treads all the way round the tyre and I got an advisory on my MOT but since then have sold the car on . Meanwhile whilst servicing my daughter in laws car last weekend I noticed both Avon tyres on her car had developed similar cracking between the treads with tyres only fitted a year ago and probably covered less than 1000 miles. At MOT today she was issued a do not use this car notice based on the dangerous state of the tyres which had minimal wear and looked new.
Be aware, its you life you are risking and these tyres should not be available for purchase.

the best all year round tyre I've used for the money. You also start with 9mm of tread from new, bonus. Tyre size were 225/50 17's. So a fairly wide tyre for winter use, but with the AP2's on over the winter months I managed to get where I needed to go, considering I was also driving an auto. Tested them on snow & ice, they excel within slush type conditions too. I'd certainly buy them again.

I do 25k a year mostly on the motorway. I have driven in all weathers with these tires and i am very happy with them. Excellent in the wet. Good dry grip, just got a new pair on the front after 25+k

Writing about the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 given 92% (225-40-18-W)
Driving on mostly town for 100 spirited miles
Well pleased!! I conducted a lot of research on what tyres to buy next after being disappointed with the Bridgestone t001 tyres that come with my car and the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 came out on top. I was after a tyre that was good in the wet and I could be confident would put the power down and after reading some of the reviews on here where people were saying you could floor it at low speeds and wouldn't get any wheel spin I was sold if a little sceptical.

After the first few miles of driving I could tell I'd made the right choice dry grip, handling and comfort all felt improved. Later that day it rained so I went out to see for myself how good they are on the rain. Well in a word AMAZING! They do what others have said and grip in the wet like you're driving in the dry! No matter how hard I tried I could not get the wheels to spin after repeated 2nd gear full throttle runs, I was seriously impressed. Handling in the wet too is excellent with no sign of understeer.

So in conclusion would I buy these again? Yes definitely they are superb tyres and inspire confidence in the wet. I just hope they wear well. Michelin make superb tyres!

I used these to replace my Goodyear efficient grip performance on my astra in the size of 225/50 17 and I can say they outclass the Goodyear's in every way especially wear which the Goodyear's gave out at about 7000 miles of realitvley quick driving where as primacys 4 still got tons of life after same mileage, dry handling is better too, even comparable to 245/45/18s I have on my other astra (exact same model) and wet grip is only slightly out done by the wider goodyear eagle f1s. Comfort is far better as they obsorb bumps better and the sidewalls are slightly stiffer than both the Goodyear's hilariously which means less wallow in corners. Fuel consumption is slightly and I mean very slightly worse on the primacy 4s compared to the efficient grip performance Goodyear's but it's vastly out weighed by positives in every other regard.

So you want excellent grip while maintaining a good fuel econemy and wear get these hands down best tire going.

Need something wider I'd suggest pilot sport 4s.

Writing about the Yokohama BluEarth Es ES32 given 96% (225-40-18-)
Driving on mostly motorways for 1000 easy going miles
Took a good 500 miles before these tyres really started to shine. Very firm and little grip to start with but then they settle in and are superb in my opinion. They are not as grippy as the Avon sport tyres they replaced but if you want a comfortable and refined ride then these ES32's are definitely for you.

These tyres are certainly very sporty and have a neat rim protector to stop you scraping your alloys on kerbs.. They run on rails and are very grippy. However, I have an Astra not an Aston Martin and I found they gave me a very hard ride and they were firm over all lumps and bumps in the road. Maybe they are for you if you like that sporty feel but not for me I'm afraid. Changed them quite quickly for Yokohama es32 which have much softer sidewalls and a more pliant ride.

Tyres worn out after 8 - 8.5k miles. Terrible wet grip. Occasionally car would start to skid on large roundabouts at low/moderate speeds. Cheap but would definitely pay more next time for something better

Writing about the Hankook Ventus V12 evo2 given 79% (235-50-18-)
Driving on a combination of roads for 18600 spirited miles
Dry and wet grip great, aquaplaning was dealt with well at high speed and also coped well with torrential rain at 70MPH (although you could feel the car getting skittish)

Dry grip seemed great as I never got to the point of understeer with these and I don't drive slowly around corners.

Just had these replaced after 18600 miles of half dual lane A road and half single lane twisty A roads (2mm left)

Drastic improvement compared to the Event tyres fitted from the dealer, absolutely terrible in the wet.

These Hankooks made the car nice to drive on the long A roads and you could have a lot of fun throwing the car into the corners without worrying about the tyre letting go.
